Haken Survivor Main Thread---
Haken's fourth release was not a full album, but an EP consisting of 'just' 3 songs. Their first release since the auditioned new bass players after the departure of long-time member Tom McLean, this is the first release to feature Connor Green on bass, who already shows off his skills in some of these songs. The special ting about this release being not only this, but the fact that all of these songs are reworked versions from the band's very first demo release. The songs 'Blind', 'Black Seed' and 'Snow' got reworked (and in all cases, extended) into these three songs the album has to offer.
Since this release, I feel this album has been mostly overlooked by fans, expect for the EP's longest track, 'Crystallised', which despite its length gets featured quite often in Haken's live sets, while the other two go largely ignored (something I personally think is a shame). While this is certainly not a full album, there's no denying that even in the band's earliest work, there's a lot of great stuff to be found and it's a nice, albeit unusual, experiment to dig up that old material and rework it into a more modern style.
Three songs means only two rounds. This round's loser goes out, the result of next round determines which song goes to Consolation or straight to the Finals.
