If someone came up to you said, "You can only listen to one of these options for the rest of your life, you must pick one," which are you taking?

Basically, you get to take two decades, but these are the only options:

Option 1:
70's Yes - Time and a Word, The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge, Tales from Topographic Oceans, Relayer, Going for the One and Tormato
80's Genesis - Duke, Abacab, Genesis and Invisible Touch

Option 2:
70's Genesis - Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, A Trick of the Tail, Wind & Wuthering and ...And Then There Were Three
80's Yes - Drama, 90125 and Big Generator

Very difficult for me, as I'd be missing out on major classic albums and songs regardless of which I pick.  I probably slightly prefer 70's Yes to 70's Genesis, but prefer 80's Yes over 80's Genesis by a wider margin, so I will go with 70's Genesis and 80's Yes.

This is tough, because Duke is probably my favorite Genesis album and I genuinely like each of Abacab, Genesis, and Invisible Touch. But just in terms of volume I guess I’ll pick the 70s run, and then I’m a big fan of 90125.

Drama is my favorite Yes album, but not all that big on 90125 and have actually never even heard Big Generator.

I have no issues with any of the 80's Genesis, even though I prefer their 70's material.

With that said, Option 1.
beul ni teh efac = Lube In The Face / That has to be wrong.  :lol / EDIT: Oh, it's Blue! I'm an idiot.
Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

That actually surprises me a little.  I think it's a very good record.   Some people don't like "Rhythm Of Love" and "Love Will Find A Way", but I really like the latter, and some of the album tracks are pretty strong.

I really like Love Will Find A Way, but a lot of that album fell flat for me when I heard it.

Part of the attraction for me is just that it SOUNDS so friggin' good.  Trevor Rabin is a technician in the best possible way.   "Shoot High, Aim Low" is one of the best SOUNDING songs I've ever heard.

I went with Option 1 really quick, but now that I think about it, it's pretty close. Option 1 consists of 12 albums, and I also really like 80s Genesis more than 80s Yes over-all, but 70s Genesis is pretty great too, just a tad bit more than 70s Yes for me right now.

Honestly, I could probably go with either, but in recent years, I really grew to love 80s Genesis, except the self-titled, which is just OK for me, but the other three are A-Tier releases (with their B-Sides/non-album songs attached).

I'm taking Option 1, but leaving Wind and Wuthering on the table is a tough call.

70s Yes, 80s Genesis.  Easy peasy.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

70s Yes and 80s Genesis by a wide margin.  I'd be sad to miss out on my #1 Genesis album (ATOTT), but I get Duke and Abacab.  The other way, I would miss out on all of my favorite Yes albums, and that's not a worthwhile trade off.
