Disasterpiece - Standstill (haven't listened to them in over a decade but let's check it out)

Disasterpeace is just one guy, but the It Follows score is absolutely incredible.  Nothing else I've heard from him compares though.

Oh right, and he makes a lot of video game music IIRC.

I’m slowly becoming a Dire Straits fan. Curious to know what Knopfler’s solo stuff is like by comparison.

Knopfler solo is much more relaxed and mellow than Dire Straits. I really like his stuff and he's a top 5 guitar player for me, but sometimes I wish he would rock a little more.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

yeah the new exist was really dull, i'm not all that surprised tho bcuz they've been getting slightly less interesting with each subsequent album - didn't think Egoista was all that remarkable either so

on the other hand, here's some proggy blackgaze i really enjoyed

The new Khirki too! Had forgotten about it!

Haven't listened yet, but their debut was one of my surprises for 2021, so I'm excited about this.

Hah, I didn’t think it got much more relaxed than Dire Straits!

I dunno, I quite liked Egoista.

This Icosandria album is pretty damn good. I can definitely hear the Deafheaven influence.

Disasterpiece was not good after 4 songs. I turned it off. Maybe I am missing something. The songs are all the same length (3:51). Maybe they are meant to be layered? Idk.

sleepmakeswaves is pretty nice one listen in.

I'm looking forward to the new DVNE. I'm reading great things about In Vain...I'm actually completely unfamiliar with them, so this new album might be my chance  :) And I have lost track of High On Fire a bit, I'll probably check this out.

These two albums caught my ear last week..

It's kind of Gothy and I enjoyed it. It led me to their previous album, 2016's The Unknown, which is downright tremendous!

It's technically atmospheric black metal, but there's a grandioseness about it that's really cool.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

Yeah, I need to listen to this. This is a band that's been around for quite a while, and I don't think I've ever checked anything out. They should be in my wheelhouse.

EDIT:Yes, definitely in my wheelhouse. This is a VERY tasty slab of gothic metal

Hopefully their singer had his adenoids removed.

Come on, now  :lol

I really liked Too Mean To Die a lot, even though it's just Wolf left. I didn't care for the first song they released, but I'm hopeful.
