Nice, I know I've checked out at least one Ahab album, so will give that a go. Well, I'll sample all of these to be fair.

What we got today peeps? I've only got the new Obituary at the moment.

Out today!  :metal

Leper Colony is the new death metal band involving Marc Grewe (ex-Morgoth, Insidious Disease) and Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Revolting) and they've done their best to ensure that the music has all the undiluted appeal of the classic albums of Death, Massacre, Morgoth and the like. This is an absolute riff-fest, with every song adding a different dimension of that classic sound which is imbued with that irresistible thrash fervour. Rogga Johansson may have written his most diverse album and on his part, Marc Grewe has given a spirited performance with a lot of variation in this delivery. Both of them have made sure that despite being rooted in the old school sound, the music here is entertaining enough to not only satiate the nostalgic audience but also find appeal among the newer death metal listeners. This is an interesting take on the style that's more than just imitation and it doesn't hurt that it's incredibly catchy while being structured at the same time. Fans of thrashy, pulsating, old school death metal shouldn't pass up on this under any circumstances.

For fans of: Death, Morgoth, Asphyx, Pestilence, Slayer, Massacre, Cancer

Leper Colony sounds interesting.  I generally prefer Rogga when he does more Swedish-styled death metal, but sometimes his other projects are good as well.

Ahab, Beyond the Black, Man Or Astro-Man?, Mansion.

Nice, I know I've checked out at least one Ahab album, so will give that a go. Well, I'll sample all of these to be fair.

Dunno if either Beyond The Black or Mansion would be your sort of thing.  But Man Or Astro-Man definitely could be.  Their more recent material isn't as good, but the 90s albums are great surf punk.  Almost thought of sending them or a similar band at some point in your roulette, but I don't know the albums quite well enough to pick a song without relistening to everything, and I had other higher priority entries to work on.

That Leper Colony album rules!  It's right up there with the 2 Inhuman Condition albums for really good modern Death/Massacre worship.

Beyond the Black is about as genetic as it comes - that's not to say it's bad, it's just there are so many symphonic power pop bands out there doing pretty much the same thing, and this doesn't really stand out from the pack.

I liked it, but it's definitely not essential listening, especially if you're not a fan of that sort of music.  If you're curious check out "Winter Is Coming" and "Free Me", those were the two tracks that popped the most.

You know, I don't think I've ever checked out a single album. Also eyeing up that Slade album you posted in the albums thread. Don't think I've ever heard anything other than I Wish it Could Be Christmas Everyday.

Slade is awesome. Just good time easy on the ears party rock n roll.

Uriah Heep has been remarkably consistent for the last 20 years, really ever since singer Bernie Shaw joined the band. Just classic rock to hard rock. Not like Saxon or anything like that. Uriah Heep also features the Hammond organ so there's that aspect to their sound a s well. Real comfort rock.

I know this isn't quite to the tastes of most that post in this thread, but Girish and the Chronicles (old-school hard/glam rock) released another album today, after just having dropped one last year.

And the album is quite good.

Klone - Meanwhile

I pre-ordered a vinyl copy - but was notified it's held up in customs. The band then has given out a link to stream the album to those that pre-ordered.

It's really goood!  :metal

Le Grande Voyage was great, but Meanwhile hits much harder. It's way more intense and visceral in many spots on the album. It's also recorded and produced really well. It sounds huge. I can't wait for my physical copy.

Also a Kauan remake of some kind, Algiers, and - surprisingly - Hundred Reasons!

EDIT: Also it's not a Friday release, but it seems the new Lovebites album came out today!

A band called Obey Robots released their full length debut, One In A Thousand on Friday. Recently came across them on Twitter randomly and gave them a follow. Not sure how much I like the album, but I think some people here might be into it. Kind of a bit like Coheed and Cambria (or my impression of them) with a female singer.

This was the video that caught my attention on Twitter:
