Four new releases I'll be working my way through today:

Liquid Tension Experiment 3 (obvs)
Black Peaks - Live at The Brighton Centre
The Vintage Caravan - Monuments
Crown - The End of All Things

Might give the new Offspring a spin as well, and try to go in with an open mind!

Some other releases for today:

Greta Van Fleet - The Battle at Garden’s Gate
Marty Friedman - Tokyo Jukebox 3
Bewitcher - Cursed Be Thy Kingdom
While She Sleeps - Sleeps Society
Cannibal Corpse - Violence Unimagined

Today sees the releases of two re-issues with lots of bonus stuff and new mixes.

The Who - Sell Out (my favourite Who album)
John Lennon & Yoko Ono - Plastic Ono Band
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

Field Music’s new album Flat White Moon is out today. I pre-ordered it, but I think I picked no-rush delivery so won’t get it until next week probably (haven’t gotten a shipping notice yet at any rate).

I guess the new Paul Gilbert album came out today. I pre-ordered it weeks ago and Amazon has no idea when they are going to ship it. It showed up in my Autorip library today.

Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

Only thing of note for me this week is King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizard - Butterfly 3000.

Anything else worth checking out this week?

Danny Elfman's new prog rock/metal album is bonkers and quite enjoyable.

It's called Big Mess, it's available on Spotify and I assume other places.

King Buffalo - The Burden of Restlessness

I gave this a listen - call me intrigued  ;D Very interesting sound. Anyone else getting a Kevin Moore-vibe in the vocals? Especially in the closer, "Loam"

There doesn't seem to be much that I'm interested in this week. All I've added to my 2021 playlist is the new Bossk and Galneryus. Oh, and an album that I missed last week, Go Ahead and Die, a new band featuring Max Cavelera.

A few of interest for me today - new Pendulum EP, new 20th anniversary remix of Muse's Origin of Symmetry, and new Helloween.

There's a few that dropped today that I'd had on my radar:

Neonfly / The Future, Tonight
Tolkki's Avalon / The Enigma Birth
Chalice of Sin / s/t
Crowne / King In The North
Styx / Crash of the Crown

I've made my way thru the first two.  Good stuff.  JLB on Avalon was an unexpected surprise.

It's already up on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6D4pAukKys&t=1s
I plan on listening to it this afternoon. I wasn't impressed by any of the singles but we'll see how it is.

Not sure if any of these were actually released yesterday, but a couple of singles that caught my eye over the past couple months had albums drop recently:

Silver Talon / Decadence and Decay
Sonic Haven / Vagabond
Molybaron / The Mutiny

Will fire these up today / tomorrow

The Silver Talon has been out for a couple of weeks. I checked it and didn't end up saving it. I'll give it another go.

Silver Talon didn't hit me right away, but for some reason I kept going back to it. I like it a ton now. Sure, there's a lot of Nevermore in there, especially with the vocals, but I think there's more of an old-school feel (in the best possible meaning of the word) that works great.

Incidentally,  Silver Talon is an offshoot of Spellcaster (RIP - check out their last album Night Hides the World, pretty cool), which also spawned Unto Others (aka Idle Hands)
