Tony MacAlpine had an EP - Equilibrium - drop today.  Listened to the title track, and was most pleased.

The Work by Rivers of Nihil will be released this Friday.  I listened to a video review and both reviewers loved the album.  I have not listened to any of the singles.

NEW TREMONTI ALBUM!  MARCHING IN TIME!

I enjoyed it and I didn't really have much expectations from it.  I might enjoyed it better than Myles Kennedy's Ides of March (which I still like) and that I had slightly higher expectations for.

What showed up in my Spotify Release Radar playlist today ....

Teramaze / And the Beauty The Perceive - I'd seen this a couple days ago on YT.  Very much looking forward to the release in a few weeks.
Aeon Zen / Twilight - very nice.  I've been a mild fan of these guys for a while.  I'd forgotten the whole album dropped today. :giggity:
JSS & Dino Jelusick - Don't Let It End.  nice duet... didn't realize JSS was releasing an album of re-recorded songs with a duet partner for each.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

New Miles Davis album, "The Lost Concert" released today, the 30th anniversary of his death, is a rare performance of Miles playing newer and older tunes, featuring Kenny Garrett, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Dave Holland, John Scofield, Joe Zawinul, and more.

One album coming out today that I'm excited to check out:

Unto Others - "Strength"

The band was formerly know as Idle Hands, and their album "Mana" was one of my favorites from 2019, a great mix of goth and classic metal. The singles sounded promising, more or less in the same vein as the full-length debut. Will give it a listen today...

Anybody listened to the Spiritbox album? Loving it so far.

Didn't know about this band until recently. Their music keeps playing on Liquid Metal. Not bad, enjoyable songs so far.

Listening to Rivers of Nihil right now  :metal

EDIT: I will need to listen to Rivers of Nihil again. There are some good moments, but not a lot of memorable parts. However, there was nothing I disliked on first listen. We will see.

The Void from Which no Sound Escapes, MORE? stood out the most on first listen  :metal

Only listened to the Sleep Token once so far but it sounded awesome.

For me it's:
 - Sleep Token
 - Tremonti
 - Public Service Broadcasting
 - Clarence Clarity EP
 - Mad Lollypop EP

Aeon Zen- Transversal is great, sadly its their last release according to Rich Hinks.
New Teramaze is outstanding as well! If you like Sorella Minore you'll love this one as well.

Well the new album will be the bands 3rd release in under a year. Sorella Minore, the song, is Her Halo pt. 2. At 26 minutes long so 4 songs in total at about 45 minutes qualifies as a full album but I get what you're saying.

Just listened to the work by Rivers of Nihil.  This one will take multiple listens.  So many layers to work thru.  I have not listened to between the buried and me, but some of the reviewers are saying it sounds like
BTBAM when their style changed.

I don't see any mentions of Mostly Autumn.  I'm halfway through it and loving it so far.  I still miss Heather Findlay, but they remain masters of that folky Floyd vibe.

it was already a problem on the last album but it's an absolute disaster on this one
there's moments of the album i liked but they were almost exclusively not metal moments because the drums just CRUSH the guitars during any loud moments

Really excited for...the new Poppy album coming out this Friday.

I didn't really care for her last album, other than "Don't Go Outside" which was an amazing song and eerily prescient given when it came out.  But I just listened to the new one and it quite impressed me, it seems like she's found her stride.

I'm about halfway through the album now and I don't really see the issue.  The drums are loud, but I can still hear the guitars fine.  Some albums just have really in your face drum mixing.  Vader's Litany has relentless jackhammer kicks for example.  A mixing disaster is something like St. Anger or the original Enemies of Reality, not this.

Yep they were the only releases on my hit list too. Some great singles released as well this week though.

Edit: also going to check out the new Minstry and Explosions in the Sky
