Did anyone have anything decent to kick off the year on Friday?

I actually did listen to a surprisingly good platter of death metal that came out yesterday

At The Plates - Omnivore

I didn’t use “platter” randomly, as all the songs appear to be food-themed ;) I mean, the band’s name should give a hint. Not only that, but the song titles are seemingly plays on existing death metal songs’ titles (Punish My Waistline, Terminal Filet Disease, Roastwell 47 and others…)

Anyway…lyrically it’s clearly a bit gimmicky, but it’s really quite good. A bit Death, a bit Carcass…kinda technical but not too much.

Just checked this out.  It is pretty solid and enjoyable.  Just like with Cannabis Corpse, it's gimmicky, but there are some really good riffs and songs.

Toehider - Children of the Sun 3 (EP)
Full title:

Children of the Sun 3: A Collection of Cartoon Theme Songs from an Alternate Timeline in Which All Cartoons Are Duck-Themed

:lol

Looks like this is the January release and it seems like a pretty weird one. I'll give it a listen of course, but not expecting very much from it.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

The Toehider was expectedly weird, not one of his best. :lol

Green Day was a solid return to form, no surprises but all good stuff.

Nemophila (not technically a Friday release but came out this week) seems really good as expected.

Just got the new Glass Beach left to check out.

I agree with both statements. Main thought on Green Day was "Hol' up, this isn't shit!". Definitely a pleasant surprise after the abomination that was their last album.

Currently on the new Slift, which is OK but feels REALLY long and I'm kinda losing interest. Just got the new Omar Rodríguez-López to check out after.

Never checked out their debut but I gave this a spin today and it was nice. A bit mellower than I expected.

beul ni teh efac = Lube In The Face / That has to be wrong.  :lol / EDIT: Oh, it's Blue! I'm an idiot.
Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history
