One thing that impresses me about the reviews so far is that none of them point to the 3 pre-released songs as highlights of the album. The reviews make it seem like the songs get even more interesting after track 3, in which case it's very exciting
Agreed!  :tup
this actually is my theory as well (and I hoped for this to happen too, I'm not saying tracks 1-3 are bad by any means, I like these too)

And reviews seem to love At Wit's End more than PBD. Personally I feel At Wit's End is going to end up instant favourite on my list.

Yup, this is how I felt it would wind up as well.  These singles have been solid, but this is going to be just the tip of the iceberg.

I'm not sure how it is a "theory," since almost everybody who has listened to the album says that, although the first three songs are really good, what comes after is even stronger.

that has to do with the fact that I had this in mind before I read the fan club reviews (or any reviews for that matter) and right after I listened to FITL for the first time. I'm aware that my choice of words might have been odd.

The rest of the album potentially being even better than Fall into the Light has me even more excited for this album

Well it would really be hard for them to be less interesting, unfortunately. Really looking forward to hearing BW, AWE, and PBD.

Yes, I actually love how the songs so far worked fine as great teasers for a coherent really nice DT sound. Can't wait to listen to the full song. Specially At Wit's End and PBD!

So seems like Dream Theater are coming to Greece after 8 years.
My review is also up, unfortunately for you it's in greek and didn't have the time to translate it.

They really should, Istanbul was very loyal to DT in terms of attendance in 2009 and then in 2017.

"...will surely cause a lot of headbanging even to the most reluctant."

I'm sure this didn't translate perfectly, but it created a beautiful image of a person nervously standing at a concert thinking, "I don't know if headbanging is such a good idea"

"Rudess is also very cuddly, based on few (and good) sounds and not many blues"

Petrucci is often compared to a Grizzly Bear. Google Translate has now turned Jordan into a Teddy Bear  :rollin

Mistranslations aside, this was an excellent review. Great job! So far all the reviews seem to have the same general sentiment: DT is not reinventing the wheel, but they are adding a solid piece to their storied discography. And I couldn't be more excited.

Well, just got an email from Century Media saying:

"Thank you for pre-ordering a copy of Dream Theater's Distance Over Time Collector's CD Box Set. We are writing to let you know the release date for this title has been moved to March 1, 2019. Your order is now expected to ship on or around February 27, 2019. "

Damn, you century media making me buy the album on release.

This is just poor planning on the labels part.  Now we have to wait an additional week to get our delivery.  They should now send us a download link on release day.

I hope so as well. I dont think its the label, it might be Century Media not getting shipments available till then.

Its not like they have to 3D print a really detailed NOMAC.

I called Century Media and they confirmed that the deluxe box sets are delayed till 3/1.  They had a vendor issue that caused the delay.  So those of us that bought the deluxe now have to wait an additional week to get the release.  I asked if there is any download that will be provided and they told me that unless the package came with a download, which i don't think it did, we will not be getting it on release day.

This is unfortunate, but at least it'll be available on all streaming platforms (and I assume YouTube as well) - so you're not all lost. I know everything has been printed already, and it's been sitting in warehouses ready to ship for while, so I dunno why it's being delayed for Century Media...
There will be a reckoning.

They did not give any specifics as to the exact reason for the delay.  I also see that the art book versions are also delayed.  Maybe this was the reason.

This is weird. I ordered two other box sets from two other bands that were both delayed by a week after the release date. One of them was an incredibly small band and the box set was only limited to 100 copies. I doubt they'veeven sold half.  The other band a little smaller than DT. Weird coincidence.

Box sets are usually delayed. I ordered Coheed's Unheavenly Creatures Box Set and I received it 3 weeks after album release.

Listened to the first 3 songs in album order and am pumped. Fall Into The Lights ending makes me pumped for hearing the intro to Barstool Warrior for the first time.

I pre-ordered the art book version, but haven't received any email from the Inside Out Store about delays. But after reading some of your post now I've made some precautions and sent an email to them and asked about potential shipping delays.

So I'll just have to wait and see what kind of response I get.

You know what?

I had a hard time sleeping last night. I put earbuds in and listened to the 3 released tracks in order (UA, P, FITL) and it clicked with me. They sound good listening to them all together. I enjoyed listening to them together more than I have listening to the songs on their own.

Production (sound mix) is great also. Probably the one I like the most in the Mangini era.

I'm looking forward to the 22nd.

All these good reviews means I have to buy my tickets now. Cause, I feel, once the album is released. The remaining seats will be bought up.

Album pre-ordered. Can't wait for next Friday! All three singles are definitely growers, and have grown on me.

Although I say that...I really really hope the delays mentioned above don't apply to all the versions.
