Not a huge fan, but like the above, and a few others.

The only exposure I had to Alice growing up was his metal era - I only just listened to some of the older stuff in recent years.

So I'll stick to my old favourites:

Freedom
Roses On White Lace
The World Needs Guts

Halo Of Flies
Second Coming
Steven

70s Cooper is the one for me. Can't stand Poison and that whole era.
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

Impossible to choose. So many songs, so many styles.

I'll make separate lists.

ROCK N' ROLL TRACKS:
Poison
Hey Stoopid
I'm Eighteen
(honorable mention for No More Mr. Nice Guy)

HEAVY TRACKS:
Brutal Planet
Dragontown
Roses on White Lace

BALLAD-ISH TRACKS:
Steven
Might as Well Be on Mars
Pick Up the Bones

EPIC SOUNDING STUFF:
Ballad of Dwight Fry
Welcome to My Nightmare
Desperado
(honorable mention for I am Made of You)

But really, the guy's a legend and most of what he's done is gold.

Favorite albums, in chronological order:

Killer
Billion Dollar Babies
Welcome to My Nightmare
From the Inside
Hey Stoopid
Brutal Planet
The Eyes of Alice Cooper
Welcome 2 My Nightmare
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Great to see Eyes there. That's a great album. But W2MN and Brutal Planet would be nowhere near the top half of my list.

Yeah, I think School's Out is so underappreciated as an album. Killer and School's Out back to back were way ahead of their time.

basically what I would choose too.  School's Out, in particular, has one of the best verses in the entire history of rock.

Well we got no class
And we got no principals
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes

two brilliant plays on words, plus a thematic non-rhyme if there ever was one.  fucking brilliant.

The original Alice Cooper band was light years ahead of its time. So underrated in Classic Rock circles for the true genius they were. Bob Ezrin too.

Pass The Gun Around
The Quiet Room
Dangerous Tonight
Wind Up Toy

Nice mention for Dada!

Quiet Room is indeed great, From the Inside is an overlooked but awesome album.

Dangerous Tonight is quite kickass too, more generally Hey Stoopid is WAY better than Trash and should have been the big hit album, but Desmond Child and Poison had other plans.

Which brings us to Wind Up Toy which is indeed a fantastic song and he should really bring it back live.

We never got Wind Up Toy here on that tour. He only did the Operation Rock And Roll Tour where he coheadlined with Judas Priest. We never really got the full show. I remember trading for VHS bootlegs from the European tour to see it.

He had a great band for that tour:

Vinnie Moore
Stef Burns
Eric Singer
Derek Sherinian
Greg Smith

Took these shots at the show:

Alice Cooper
August 14, 1991
Great Woods
Mansfield, Ma

The original Alice Cooper band was light years ahead of its time. So underrated in Classic Rock circles for the true genius they were. Bob Ezrin too.

I want to second this; at TAC's suggestion, I went back to the early Cooper, and I got lucky that there were two sets on sale:  The Original Album Series, Vol. 1 and the TOAS, Vol. 2, which are basically the first five records and the second five records in a set.   So I listened to them chronologically through.  The first two - which TAC told me sucked, but I didn't listen and checked out, then found out they sucked - had different producers (Frank Zappa and some guy) but the third one - the one TAC said to start with - was the first with Ezrin, and the difference was like night and day.  I was familiar with Ezrin through Peter Gabriel (the first album), Floyd (The Wall), Gilmour, and Kiss (Destroyer, The Elder, Revenge) - there are others - and Fr my money, only Mutt Lange has a more recognizable production style.  He brings so much to that music and I think it fits Alice's stuff just perfectly.
