Rush surprisingly won there, but who would win here?

I love Rush, I really like Witch Hunt, and Mr. Crowley isn't even top ten of the RANDY songs (well, it might be number 10), but I still picked Mr. Crowley and it wasn't a hard decision.

I'll go with Ozzy here. I love Rush, but Witch Hunt is the only weak track on the otherwise glorious Moving Pictures for me.

Witch Hunt is the weakest track on Moving Pictures, but it’s still a perfect album regardless.

This would be fairly close but I’m still going with Rush

Magic 8 ball told me, "Is this a real fucking question? Mr. Crowley, stupid."
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Wow.  Not getting the lopsided results here.   Witch Hunt by miles for me.

Is the question “which song is creepier?” If so it’s Mr Crowley by a mile. I always think Witch Hunt is quite a nice sounding song, melodically.

I really like Witch Hunt a lot, and don't at all see it as the weak link on Moving Pictures (if such a thing exists, it's Vital Signs). I've only heard Mr. Crowley a couple of times and it did not make a strong impression.

So much this!
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I find it difficult to compare two songs with nothing in common. I guess I like (and have spun) Mr Crowley more, but that's not a real comparison.

If - as the original point on the website - the discriminant is being "the scarier", the only scary thing between those tunes is Randy's work, so Mr Crowley again.

If the question -- as in the UCR poll -- is which song is scarier, the answer is "Crowley" (even though the voters on UCR picked "Witch Hunt").  Neither is a particularly great song, but I picked "Crowley" by a nose.

The voters on UCR also picked Alice Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare" as being scarier than "Black Sabbath," which is beyond ridiculous.  Did anyone not get shivers down his/her spine upon hearing "Black Sabbath"?  Of course, UCR didn't pick many truly "scary" songs (e.g., "People Are Strange" and "Werewolves of London").

Scary?

Orgasmatron by Motorhead (first time I heard it was at night during a thunderstorm and the power went out midway through.  Scared the crap out of me).

Sober by Tool (well, the video; I had a nightmare about that video, only time that has ever happened.)

I can see that.

Lemmy probably could have made some decent money doing "books on tape" for horror books.

Or many a King Diamond song. Back in the days, when I still listened to KD, I avoided nighttime. Too creepy.
