@ the Avantasia descriptor. Ev and I should've gotten that one!
I was <this> close to sending The Scarecrow from The Flying Opera as an Avantasia submission, but chose the Learning To Live-esque Shadow of the Lake instead.
That said, I really hope that Another Angel Down is the 'groove dancing in the aisle' comment, and not 'generic heavy metal' (though, I'm guessing the latter
)
Having just spun most of these, I'll put forth the following guesses
Ostura / Duality - This is how DT would sound if Kevin never left and Mike fulfilled his Russell Allen fantasy in 2002
Mystery / Shadow of the Lake - A brazen celebration of artistic theft (for the thieving of the LtL vibe)
Ayreon / Isolation - My ears are arguing with my guts over this
PoS / Iter Impius - The token wonderful song featuring vocals I'm not crazy about (dat piano!)
Anathema / Untouchable Pt1 - The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful and so are you ...
Von Hertzen Brothers / Angel's Eyes - A third base date mix-tape in an era that has forgotten mix-tapes (everyone can make bank on this)
Enchant / Sinking Sand - Baby, I want to have babies with your larynx (I do too!)
Sieges Even / Unbreakable - That bassist's name and cell phone on my desk, posthaste
<though, you could easily swap the two of those - I'd hump either Ted or Arno's voices>
Ulver / Lost in Moments - The elevator is so hip and cool that you almost forget it's elevator music
Incognito / Deep Waters - Alex, stop focking groove dancing like a madman in the bus' aisle. We want to sleep!
