Daedalus is a better ballad than any sent by the youngsters.

If he can run this zoo, he can handle multiple bitches.

Strongly tempted to sig that. Apologies, gents. My job is a multiple bitch sometimes.

Is there no hangman'g in Ohio??

There isn't. You all already know 50% of the submissions and I've dragged this for too long. I know, it's roulette blasphemy, but "Gotta get down to it ..."

Here's the field:

Jingle: the man with a plan, running for governor of Minnesota: Frameshift - 1) La Mer 2) Miseducation

vs

lonestar: Ba-cong guerilla specialist, herald of middle-eastern metal: Voices from the Fuselage - 1) Epicinium 2) Meteorites

TAC: knows my tastes like my brother, has my brother's same tastes: Thoughts Factory - 1) No Way Out 2) The Mire

vs

King: the unrelenting prog pusher, Photoshopper extraordinaire: Karmakanic - 1) Let in Hollywood 2) Wheel of Life

Parama: surprisingly turning paramacore into paramasutra for this roulette: The Dear Hunter - 1) Mustard Gas 2) Son and Father

vs

Evermind: master of melody, knows submissions before they hit my PM box: Thrice - 1) Firebreather 2) Dedalus

Sacul: the branching out specialist, last second killer: Boris - 1) Pink 2) Jackson Head

vs

Puppies: the crescendo aficionado, always from left field: Devin Townsend Band - 1) Deadhead, Devin Townsend Project* - 2) Heart Baby

* Don't whine, please. I've sanctioned it. It's irrelevant in the great scheme of things.

Hey... pisano.  1/2 of us are going to need to know your definition of "loooong epic".

Over 12 inches minutes. "Pisano" is how you call an inhabitant of Pisa.

I'm having an aneurysm  :rollin
I was considering like, Child of Dust and then a heavier one like Firebreather or Daedalus or something
I'm gonna guess you did send Daedalus though
:rollin

heart baby wouldn't have been my pick from Ghost but it's a good one regardless and deadhead ofc is great

also i don't like boris at all so let's see what happens

Not sure how Epicinium will fare with our host, but Meteorites blows both those Frameshift songs out of the water. Very curious to see how this plays out, and whether I get to send the epic to end all epics.

And Tim, do I get an assist for turning you on to Thoughts Factory? ;)

Thrice vs. The Dear Hunter is an epic battle.

Yeah, kind of like the Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets. They both can't lose.
Hardly epic.

That winner is easy.

TAC did pretty well at guessing what kind of stuff i don't hate in my last roulette, to be fair

but also Thrice and TDH are both great  :P like i said i was considering literally the same two songs Ev sent (though I wouldn't have sent both of them, since Child of Dust is fantastic and a lot better for the theme here :P)

I went back and forth on a few songs from Ghost. I also considered something from Ki, like Trainfire. I also thought about sending something from Casualties of Cool, but that might have been pushing the same artist rule a little too far.

Blackberry and Feather were the other 2 I was considering. I just felt like Feather was a little too long for this round.

Casualties of Cool has so many great songs, it would be hard to pick. That's pretty close to a perfect album for me actually.

Child of Dust is good, but I really wanted to send Daedalus. :lol I would've probably gone with Come All You Weary instead of Child of Dust though.

I can't stand Let in Hollywood. Always skip it. Curious to see how that goes.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

La Mer is pretty awesome.

I think so too... and the piano line is something that I hope clicks with Big Al.

I think you're probably safe with La Mer, jingle, but... Miseducation is not only bad English, it's a pretty risky tune.

Yeah, that matchup really comes down to Meteorites vs La Mer. I think the other two tracks are throwaways. But who knows. Indiscipline may like the electronica.

Gonna be tough for Indiscipline to pick against Big James there. But Meteorites is really strong and diverse.

That's a tough call.

Very tough call.

Meteorites is fantastic, but I really have no idea what Alle will think of the "boy band" type vocals. To me they sound sincere (probably because I'm a big fan of TYS), but he may find them a bit contrived. He's scored "poser" vocals pretty low.

It shall be interesting.

Good day bedlam. A whole week-end on the bus = scarce hosting, but boy did I go through your songs!

First off, I am glad to inform you I have been sent 3 acts whose discographies I'm definitely going to suck dry. Fantastic stuff.

Matchup impressions:

One match is very hard to judge, both excellent contenders.

One match is mildly hard to judge, both meh contenders.

One match is very easy to judge, pretty lopsided.

One match is mildly easy to judge, the less ugly wins.

And now, a bit of bus impressions, the "sorry, couldn't help it" edition. Always in jest, of course.

"So come on, jump in the fire ..."
"Shed your light on me ..."

"Good morning, the Worm, your honour ..."
"I was dreaming of the past ..."

"SO YOU THINK YOU CAN TELL ..."
"So the world goes round and round ..."

"I met this girl on monday, took her for a drink on tuesday ..."
"Hey look at me lady, I'm just your little baby ..."

"It's not like you killed someone ..."
Sorry, got nothing here.

"Lights go down, it's dark, the jungle is in your head ..."
"I may make you feel but I can't make you think ..."

"My tendency for dependency is offending me ..."
"How does it feel to treat me like you do?"

"Blue jean baby, LA lady, seamstress for the band ..."
"Into the fire from the frying pan ..."
