Amazing that it's also the exact same score that all 5 ended up with. I smell shenanigans!

It's reassuring that the youngins came from behind to take the lead in the overall standings because they sent shittier music than us old farts.

:jingleboy:

I've known what act I was going to send from the moment I saw this round.  Just need to decide which two songs (which again... I think I know).
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Please, let me honour and thank the fine gentlemen who didn't make the cut.

Katt, you've been always a positive presence in this thread, and you took my blows with a smile, like a true man. I feel we share way more musical universe than the results speak for, and I believe you've often circled around the right spots landing elsewhere by misfortune.

Shadow, you never failed to send extremely interesting music, and your very first and last submissions I consider acts I will certainly check out and enjoy. You've been damaged by my unpredictable quirks maybe more than anybody else, and I'm a bit sorry.

Stadler, I can't believe you're out, for in a way I feel you're one of the participants I share more musical background with. I think that Bieber song was just too good for your sake, but I really appreciate your sticking to your guns. I will miss my weekly dose of Beatles nostalgia.

Aefenwelg, despite a terrible start, you went on and sent me a couple of magical tunes, possibly the most memorable so far. If there's a participant I'm regretting not receiving an EP from, that's you. I'm sure it would be totally unpredictable.

DOC, my brother, you took the heavy metal path and never betrayed it. I must honour the determination, and a couple of face-melting focking excellent tunes you gave me. Plus, as required from every good Scenes Thread aficionado, you are a focking funny crazy dude this roulette will miss.

Please, everybody, stick around until the end.

Damn, a playoff round cause my song appealed too much to your inner Japanese 16 year old. And I'm gonna have to burn a ballad I was saving for my EP. Well crickey.

Wait, you mean I actually have a chance to make it through? That's unexpected. :lol

Presumably the 1996 rule applies to the ballad like the other rounds?

yeah congrats you officially sent the worst song of the roulette
if i wanted to send the absolute worst thing i could think of i probably would've sent Merzbow of course
or Slint - Don, Aman, which is to this day the worst thing i've ever been sent in a roulette and I doubt that will change
I'm assuming you've never heard Public Castration is a Good Idea.

I do whinge like anyone else when I get a surprisingly low score but it is definitely all in fun which is what these things are all about anyway  I believe we share more in common musically than what was put on display here, for sure, as evidenced by your first round in my roulette. Hopefully next time I do better!  :metal

Good day, bedlam. A little lightning bizarro hangmama if you will:

???: Outspan Foster - Fish of Joy = Glen Hansard - Bird of Sorrow
???: Disconnectin Avenue - Much Less Darkness = Linkin Park - One More Light
???: Lieutenant Alzheimer - Cherry Homicide
???: Wet Curve - Writings = Flaming Row - Pictures
???: Modern Alan Parson - Exposition = Steven Wilson -

Needless to say, five ballads (or kinda) after last round are nothing but balm for sore ears.

Interested to see who the modern Alan Parsons is.

I might have tried sending an actual Alan Parsons song had there been no 1996 rule.

Cheers! I've always been lurking, but usually Evermind finishes any hangmanen before I even see it. :P

I'm doing my best. :D But I'm having trouble with the other three.

Cherry Homicide made me think Banana Life for some reasons but apparently that's not a real song title. :(
