The song I took out of mine The Flight of Sleipnir - Falcon White

Checked it out. Very interesting.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

have some first impressions

- Consistent and groovy
- Stands out in a genre full of mediocrity
- Unique vocals, varied and dynamic music
- This might be the most vanilla thing you've sent so far
- Reminds me of another band, but the vocals aren't as good
- Symphony X called to say they wish we could still write music this good
- Dream Theater called to say they wish they could still write music this good.
- Bring 3 cups of Funky Jazz to a boil, add 1 cup of Salsa, a half cup of rock, 3 tablespoons of Reggae, a dash of Mariachi, a pinch of soul, a quarter teaspoon of hip hop, and the kitchen sink for good measure, stir until blended well and simmer for about an hour.
aka Puppies_On_Acid
I peed next to Ian Mosley and Mark Kelly
Derek Sherinian probably stands 10 feet away from the urinal, shoots from downtown, and announces loudly that he's making history.

Let's see:

- Stands out in a genre full of mediocrity
- This might be the most vanilla thing you've sent so far
- Reminds me of another band, but the vocals aren't as good

Yep, I have a 1 in 3 chance of having a small chance to get to the last round.  :lol I've heard complaints about Max Leclercq's voice but I personally love it and think it gives even more unique flavor to the music on top of the choral and orchestral work. I could also see how this sounds super vanilla even though I don't think so. I also definitely see how it stands out in a genre full of mediocrity (power and symphonic metal).

Can't wait for the writeup.  :corn

An attempt

Mine could also be "Reminds me of another band, but the vocals aren't as good" but I don't think Nothgard is "Unique Vocals"
"Unique Vocals" could be Imogen Heap though. I really dunno. I'm kinda winging it on most of these tbh
Honestly none of these feel like they have "Unique Vocals" to me except The Cat Empire, which is the most obvious impression of them all already

Puppies, are the greatest hits scored out of 10 or out of 20?  :corn

Parama could be right about mine and Puppies thinks DGM sounds like DT (and sometimes they do), but I think the more accurate one is:  Symphony X called to say they wish we could still write music this good.

What do you think jingle?  Does Serenity sound much like Symphony X to you?  I don't remember thinking so, but it's been a while since I've listened to them.  And I don't remember thinking they sounded much like DT either.  I guess ours covers those two impressions unless there's another band that was sent that sounds like DT...   I *was* trying to avoid obvious SX parts in the DGM songs I sent, but I didn't eliminate it entirely by any means.

I’d say DGM is more DT-ish than Serenity, for sure.  Serenity sounds nothing like DT, so I say 0% chance of that comment being mine. Tbh, serenity is more Nightwish than either - full on symphony elements, so the S-X comment is probably the most applicable. If so, I’ll take it.

Oooh. Then it's either Unique vocals, varied and dynamic music or the SX one, but I don't think so 'cause they're generally not as heavy and much more keyboard heavy than SX.  :corn

It will be quite unfortunate if Parama gets cut and his concept album, which blocked Evermind's previous entry and led to his ragequit, doesn't actually count.
