I didn't get it.  Three time outs in a row, they were playing head games and got caught in their own I think, like there was no reason to not let McSorley make that final play, the run game wasn't working at all.  Urban Meyer out coached James Franklin two years in a row.

Good to see Cal is still capable of giving the Beaver a good pounding. Even better to see Ohio State get knocked out of the playoff picture.

Pretty surprising how good the SEC is this year even by their own standards.

#7 Georgia: 6-1, only loss was at #4 LSU.

#4 LSU: 7-1, only loss was at #9 Florida.

#9 Florida: 6-1, only loss was vs. #12 Kentucky.

#12 Kentucky: 6-1, only loss was at #16 Texas A&M.

#16 Texas A&M: 5-2, losses were vs. #2 Clemson by only two points and at #1 Alabama.

#1 Alabama: 8-0

So, except for a two-point loss to #2 Clemson, these six teams have won every possible game they could as a group since losses are inevitable in games played between two teams from this group. Their combined strength of loss is 39-5 (.886).

SEC definitely looks like a beast this year.  The Big 10 was way over rated to start the season.

Yeah, and the PAC12 will continue to cannibalize each other so no one makes it to the playoffs. Still, makes for entertaining football.  :lol

Saturday night was so much fun watching the Utes rip a hole in the Trojans! The most humiliating part for USC was Utah spotted them 14 points on bonehead turnovers and gift plays/penalties but then proceeded to run off 34 unanswered points. The score was nowhere near representative of how bad a beating the Trojans took.

Sublime.

Good luck with Wazoo...that "Air Raid" offence is a lot for a defense to handle. If not for a penalty bringing back a punt return for a touch down, the Utes would have beat them at their place.

It is amazing how much parity there is in the PAC12 right now. Lowly Oregon State knocking off Colorado yesterday--even after being behind by 28 points in the 3rd quarter--really shows that good programs can't rest on their laurels for even a second.

No they can't, and that parity is also why it'll be a long time or take a very special team to see the Pac 12 in the playoffs.

I found this article pretty interesting.

https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2018/8/29/17795292/college-football-2018-strength-of-schedule-week-10-rankings

Not too much differences according to this system over the AP and the Coaches polls, except for Notre Dame interesting gets pushed all the way down to 17th!

I like it since it has PSU ranked much higher.  They've been very favorable with computer and analytic polls I think because of the high scoring plus a decent schedule.

Either way, that schedule gets much tougher with Michigan on the road for the 4 out of 5 games in a row against ranked competition (going 2-1 against those ranked teams) and this one is looking like the hardest yet not just being on the road, but Michigan looks legit too.

Sucks I am going to miss the end of this likely as I'll be at the Haken/Leprous concert by the time it ends.

Also, it indicates that PSU has been only under-performing (assuming a top 5 team) by 2.4 points per game! That's damned close, my man.

I've had the opposite experience with the Utes. For four weeks, I've been going into games wondering how they were going to screw the pooch this week, only to have them pretty much scoring at will against Standford, Arizona, USC and UCLA. You'd think that would have me pretty confident about Arizona State this weekend...but, no. I'm already biting my nails.  :lol

Hope your team feels the same way, I often think these young players after come wins to boost confidence get over confident and blow a game they were favored in.

I've felt the same way about them.  The start of the season was unimpressive in what I saw, but now this offense has found a rhythm and identity in Zack Moss and the running game.  They're in control of their own destiny in the South division, and every time they've been in that position the last few years, they done fucked it up.  I hope this year is different, but fool me once...

Snow Dog,

It's funny how much of a difference it made when they changed the offensive line assignments after the Washington game. Moss has some lanes to run through and with the addition of the option/pass plays, it's almost like watching a completely different team.

I didnít realize they switched things up there, but it makes sense, and good on Whittingham for making the adjustments. Itís been as you say a complete turnaround for the offense. Theyíve been tearing it up since they rolled Stanford.

well now he has been fired

I just couldn't see how a parent could send their child to play for him when someone dies like that.

I also have some beef with Durkin who really lead his program to some dirtiness with PSU.  Maryland is close in proximity to PSU and they kind of latched onto forming a regional rivalry once joining the Big 10 but they weren't really respectable about it (this trend was started by Randy Edsall).  Not shaking hands, running dirty plays, bragging over the top when they actually beat PSU for once.  Just seemed like a dirty team lead by a dirty coach.  Good riddance.  I have no issue with UMD, great school and my second choice actually behind PSU when I was looking at colleges.  But man did I not really enjoy the way the coach lead his team to treat PSU.  PSU is 38-2 all time against them.  Now Mark D'Antoni at MSU has been very similar with his disrespect to PSU, but they are at least a solid team that competes and has owned us lately and hasn't gone to such low levels as UMD.
