i mean, i'm gonna be honest, more often that not i tolerate growls more than i enjoy them
though there are absolutely cases where i do enjoy them & they add to an already great album, but there are other times where they do kinda damper an album i'd otherwise like more & bad growls can outright ruin an album too.
it's just that the styles of metal i tend to prefer all have primarily growls more than cleans
it's rare that bad growls do actually ruin albums for me though. there's been a few albums i was sent in my roulette that have primarily clean vox and then some really bad growls (thoughts factory comes to mind) on like one or two tracks & that's fine because it barely impacts the overall album. aquarius by haken is like that too, those growls b l o w and the band seemed aware of that & never had growls ever again (except for einar showing up in the architect but he can do growls well so)
i'm rambling but what i'm trying to say i guess is that i'm not someone who "loves" growls
train is though. 100%. i know for a fact. his traincore djent stuff that i hate is all growls all the time
