Hang on there tiger.  As the last-ranked person, Elite gets to assign a handicap to anyone in the Top 3 (inclusive of adjusted rankings).  The 'handicap' is in the form of assigning a theme to the submission.

Possible Handicaps:
Instrumental or ballad
Epic (15+ minutes) or shorty (under 3:30)
Elite picks a letter or color - the song, band or album must start with that letter, or have a color in it the title/name
Opening or closing track
Seven Deadly Sins - something to do with any of Lust, Gluttony, Envy, Pride, Sloth, Wrath, or Greed
Aggressive or Mellow
Song from the childhood years of the handicapped player

Katt, TAC, lonestar, wolfking... one of you may be getting handicapped.

Can't I just have wolf send female vocals or something silly like that?

Some of these are brutal though, like the letter option.. "Here, send something with a Q or an X" I looked at my music library and the colour thing is a terrible handicap as well. You can work around most of the others.

I'm not going to be an asshole right away, but TAC has to send an opening track next.

By no means is it my intention for these handicaps to be SUPER limiting... I mean Q or X or Z would be brutal.  I'd probably limit it to the Wheel of Fortune Letters - RSTLNE.  Not the Homer Simpson scrabble letters - KWYJIBO

Jingle, tell them to sack up and send a f*****g song.    There are a billion songs out there, and god forbid you end up down in the bottom of the list - with me! - over a "Q".   "Question" by Moody Blues.  "Quest For Fire" by  Maiden.   "March of the Black Queen" by Queen.   "White Queen" by Queen.   "Queen of the Rodeo" by Alice in Chains.  "The Quiet One" and "A Quick One While He's Away" by The  Who.   "Suzie Q" by every band ever.

I'll send mine today. I was agonizing all day yesterday over what to send.

Just make sure you've thoroughly read the banned list before you agonize too much... ;)

Right, yeah, but, they have to be good songs, Stadler. Good songs. Suzie Q and Quest for Fire suck!  :lol

"Good songs" have about as much to do with being successful in a roulette as having webbed feet do.   If you made an album of the songs I've been eliminated with, it would read like a Who's Who of rock history.  Ozzy.  Rainbow.  Yes.

Well, I sort of believe that the cream rises to the top.   The notion that "if only the world heard [insert obscure artist], they'd be as popular as Justin Beiber" is usually BS to me.  There's too much money in the music business for all this untapped "greatness" to go, well, untapped.

But in any event, I'm mainly just talking smack.    It's all personal taste.

How do you define "the top?" Album sales? Concert attendance? Critical acclaim? Longevity?

It doesn't matter; "Back In Black" sold a bazillion albums for a reason.  Taylor Swift sells out stadia on a regular basis for a reason.    The Velvet Underground are widely acclaimed for a reason.   The Rolling Stones have been an active unit for 55 years for a reason.

"Good" is purely subjective, a matter of taste, but when you get to the objective standards you're talking about above, I believe that generally, overall, there is a reason for achieving those standards.

I think there's a reason too, but that reason doesn't mean those songs are "better" or worthy of winning one of these roulettes. :)  Rush has said quite a few times that if they'd started today, they wouldn't have achieved anywhere near the level of success that they did.  But does that mean that, even though their music wouldn't have achieved the same level of commercial success, that it wouldn't be as good as you and I both think it is?  Of course not.  There are tons of factors that go into what makes something commercially successful.

Tay Tay sells stadia because she's super easily marketable (young hot white girl who plays guitar but doesn't scare anyone off wailing on it on stage like Eddie Van Halen after devouring a small mountain of cocaine) with enormous mass appeal, not because people think she's the next Beethoven. Lots of young women want to hear her strum a few chords and cry about ex-boyfriends and sitting by the window.  :lol

Tay Tay also scored better than a song with Rick Altzi on the mic (one of my most favorite metal vocalists) in my last roulette, so "good" is in the ear of the listener.

Just how in poker card laid is a card played, you can't take back your handicap assignment.  You owe an opening or closing track.
