Haha. The news articles would actually sound like that they don't like DT.

It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

What do all these hokey characters mean?  I don't even understand what I'm seeing so as to interpret how the characters are changing.  Makes no sense at all to me.
The 1st letter of whatever you input changes every character in the output starting from the 1st. If you input a 2nd letter, it changes every character in the output starting from the 2nd, and so on.

Some of the guys at the Discord are working on some html aspect of the characters. Another way of working through this would be to see what 1st letters in the password give a suitable 1st letter in the output. (That's why I'm thinking "A", "B", "C" and "F" are not appropriate) Then, which 2nd letter gives a suitable pair of 1st/2nd letters in the output, and so on.

Previous passwords have been DT songs, so this new one could be as well.

Thanks for the explanation, I guess, but none of this made any sense to me.  Glad you all figured it out.

Sorry! I was going to suggest you give it a go, but it seems the website (https://37311319.com/) no longer lets you play the game. Oh well.

EDIT: Nevermind - you're able to check it out for yourself again now!

The last one says https:/ so we probably need to get a url out of the drum channels?

https://is.gd is a URL shortener site. Perhaps we just need the rest of the address. I’ve no time now, but we could try adding D1 etc to the address to see what happens. If we get the right code we should be redirected to the “proper” site.

e.g https://is.gd/WzFWtC takes you to https://www.google.com

Looks like it could be: https://is.gd/cxSFvd

Takes you to a vailrenovations page.

If you enter https://is.gd/cxSFvd as the password, you get to a page that says “Well well well. Where do we go from here?”

Below the "well well well" message, there is a clickable point. You can see it by highlighting the text.

We solved this one on the Discord pretty quickly. I won't spoil it here so soon in case some of you guys are not on the Discord with us, and if you want to try it on your own. It's a fun one.

I think this weeks puzzle can be enjoyed by everyone without spoiling, as it's not technical. Have a look, and see if you manage to solve the trivia.

This one was quick, but fun ! I like how the quizz was really DT-related.
Looking forward to next week.

Also, if anyone lost track about what happened this week, or last week etc, there's still a google doc that sums it all up.
Here it is.

Notice, also, that the header of the puzzle says "Freddy Jacobi's Great Quiz #1".

Looks like there will be at least one more of those!

Two hours ago, the Facebook page of DTWorld re-posted a video of JP's Guitar Universe (https://www.facebook.com/TheDreamTheaterWorld/posts/2131108256964504) with the following comment:

Quote
While pretty much all of you are busy treasure hunting (right?), there's something brewing up in Long Island, at John Petrucci’s Guitar Universe

I checked every other relevant web-site/social network for the "Treasure Hunt", and couldn't find any clue. So maybe the video/comment is the closest to a hint right now.

Just in case, I checked JP's Guitar Universe website and Facebook page. I don't think I found anything relevant.
Maybe another clue will emerge tomorrow morning.

Freddy just posted "in the Presence of enemies" and "a rite of Passage" on his Twitter account. Notice both P's are capitalised.

He also retweeted the video of Mangini drumming.

He also tweeted

pull me under                         (non capitalized 'p')
disaPPear                              (double capitalized 'p')

Could they be related to the musical terms Piano and Pianissimo? although that doesn't explain the distinction between 'p' and 'P'.

It looks like from the other tweets "metroPolis" and "peruvian skies", that P is only capitalised if it is not at the beginning of the first word.

So, we've got:

in the Presence of enemies
Re-tweet of the Mangini video (3-7-3-11-3-19)
a rite of Passage
pull me under
disaPPear
metroPolis
peruvian skies
proPhets of war

The 37311319.com web site directed me back to google.com.

Hey I think I beat the puzzle. It's already in the google drive, but nothing happens except it says "GAME ENDED" ... I'm trying to attach an image of the pattern but don't see an attach image button!

Looks like it says:

ZIP      v (down arrow)
101   123
103   015
117   012

Don't know if this is significant but the down arrow lines up on the 1 0 0 column.

Back in the day Iomega made a "zip 100" drive.

You can’t ‘attach’ an image, you have to link to it using this format:

[img] https://*insert location of image here* [/ img]
(remove the space in the square brackets before ‘img’)

If we zip the numbers and interpret them as octal ascii, we get ACOS\r\n. The \r\n is a Windows line ending. ACOS = A Change Of Seasons?

You mean the "Caught in a Web" Picross that was posted yesterday? Someone has already posted the answer in this thread. If you want me to, I can give you a few tips on how to solve this kind of puzzles. (It's similar to Sudokus)
