Well, I mean, Porno and III Sides are the band's high water mark. For me, its the first three, with III Sides being the conceptual pinnacle. Then they started to slide down. Punchline is a really good record, but I still would rank it behind the debut. I'd probably go:
1a. III Sides
1b. Porno
(really tough to separate)
2. self-titled
3. Punchline
4. SdR
>>>>I am hoping a heavier direction will lead to a more consistent record, and something that appeals more to me. Maybe even surprise and approach the porno/III sides territory. I know they have it in them.
On the topic of Extreme, does anyone else think that K-Figg isn't all that and a bag of chips? I mean, its not like Paul Geary was the drummer of all drummers. And I mean, their best drummer was of course Mangini, who didn't really do much with them, unfortunately. But for all the touting K-Figg gets, he's just "there," ya know?
