I've been sticking to the "people" thing since Stadler raised it - or at least I think I have.

Anyone else getting constant server errors on the site at the moment?

Good get - I had to look up Earl Slick re Little Caesar (was a band member for a short period but no album appearances).

The path I had in mind was via Manic Eden (same singer) and from there take your pick.

What's your band romdrums?

Are you calling out Morse on the Rudess record?  I will change it if so (I'm not familiar with the record, so...)

Hmmm. Let's see,

Joe Walsh played (plays) guitar for Eagles
Joe Walsh played guitar for The James Gang
Tommy Bolin played guitar for The James Gang
Tommy Bolin played guitar for Deep Purple

But that's not correct, is it? Walsh and Bolin didn't play together in The James Gang.

Oh, oh. I get it

Joe Walsh played (plays) guitar for Eagles
Joe Walsh played guitar for The James Gang
Jim Fox played with Joe Walsh in The James Gang and later played with:
Tommy Bolin played guitar for The James Gang
Tommy Bolin played guitar for Deep Purple

The only one of these I've been able to do are the easy ones (Mike Portnoy and Stratovarius). Someone do GnR or Toto at some point for the curious :)
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Not the route I was thinking of but it works.

Tony Mac played on Vinnie Moore's albums
Vinnie plays guitar in UFO with Phil Mogg
Mogg sang for UFO with Bernie Marsden
Marsden played with John Lord in Whitesnake
John Lord - Deep Purple

It's amazing how many ways this can go.

There are probably a million ways connecting Toto with Deep Purple, Stadler showed a rather complicated one.

The shortest way is probably Simon Phillips, who was the replacement for Jeff Porcaro and who also played on Coverdale's White Snake solo record.

Edit: and we need a new band.

Nice work!

Stewart Copeland played drums on Peter Gabriel's So record
Peter Gabriel was in Genesis with Phil Collins
Phil Collins played on Robert Plant's solo record
Robert Plant was in Led Zeppelin with Jimmy Page
Jimmy Page did Coverdale/Page with David Coverdale, who was in Deep Purple

BTW, has anyone used Jon Lord or Tommy Glover as the connection to Deep Purple?  I'm mostly seeing connections through David Coverdale, Ritchie Blackmore, Steve Morse and Ian Gillian.

Next band: Asia
