Stadler (and all) - just be patient with the "d" bands because some of them are bands that I don't remember listening to and would have to look at what I wrote about them, and are likely quite acceptable for this roulette.  Others are just bands I don't like at all; I've heard a lot of their catalogue, but I don't own anything.

So - I'll save you the trouble and let you know that Kiss is probably plain old banned.  A coworker lent me lots of Kiss to listen to and I remember sort of liking a song called Unholy, and that was the extent of it.  I really dislike Paul Stanley's voice - to the extent that I also often dislike Matt Barlow because he reminds of me of Paul Stanley!

And everyone else - I'll save you the trouble and tell you that Pain of Salvation is banned because I kind of hate them.

So, I've got 4 songs that might be getting an advantage by being played more... just sayin. :)

Nekov and Orcus - let me know if you're in please.

"more" sometimes backfires... songs can get over-played and annoying too.

They could... but I kinda doubt it because I'm in control of how often they get played.  Also, I tend to need multiple plays to decide how I feel about something.  It's rare for me to like something right away; or even dislike, unless it's stuff I hate.

Evermind is gonna send Beyond the Bridge at some point.  :lol

Lethean: gotta ask, as I'm an adventurous music fan, besides not liking country and rap, and enjoying prog/power metal, are you open to other genres of music? We're talking like... new age. Jazz of several varieties. 70s singer-songwriter stuff, cinematic music, all that. Or are you looking to stay in your comfort zone (prog)?

As long as someone introduces him to The Old Man and the Spirit, I'm good.

I just looked at the banned list and while some of the artists I thought of are banned, there are plenty of holes for me to fill... wait, that came out wrong.

It doesn't have to be prog.  After all, Candlebox is on my list (in fact I almost sent you their debut album but thought the better of it).  That being said, if someone sends me a prog song that I love, it would be likely to win the round - but there's plenty of prog that I don't love or even like.  So - let's see.  Jazz... don't like that much, but there has been stuff described as "fusion" that I thought was cool.  What, you ask?  No idea - sorry.  :)  New age - I dunno, and I'm not really sure what all that encompasses.  I like some Enya songs - start off listening to an album and think it's great, then at some point find myself wondering how many songs 'til I get to the end.  Obviously this wouldn't be a problem if I'm just listening to one song.

Cinematic music - movie soundtrack type stuff?  I probably like plenty of that but have never thought to just listen to it by itself.  Singer-songwriter, I don't know.  I'd have to really like the singer's voice and really like the melodies.  If the singer sounds like he or she is talking/mumbling - pass.

I listened to a lot of classical music growing up and particularly liked Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky; I'm not looking for super long pieces of classical music, but if you've got something that you think is cool, I'd interested in hearing it.  What else?  When I'm staying with my parents they listen to a lot of PBS, and I've heard a ton of Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brighton, Josh Groban, David Foster (and his friends), etc.  Great voices, but generally doesn't move me, and in the end, that's what I'm looking for.

Well, Voyager makes me :puke:, so that's why I clearly didn't get it.  I got mixed up between Voyager and Oceans of Slumber (A, because I saw them both on tour with Evergrey, and B, because after hearing each of them, I couldn't give two shits about their music).

To help out and answer the question seriously though:

Nightwish:
Tarja - please god no
Floor Jansen - sometimes like, sometimes don't (the more operatic she gets, the less I like her)
Annette - OK

Delain - don't like, don't send them to me
Epica - don't like, don't send them to me, why did Angra have to ruin their title track by letting her sing it?
Amaranthe - :puke:
Leaves Eyes - :puke:

Who else?

Anneke - haven't checked out Vuur yet; didn't like the Gentle Storm, generally OK with her in studio on Ayreon but sometimes, especially live, too much vibratto

I don't like operatic female vocals - or male vocals really, but sometimes people call male vocalists like Geoff Tate "operatic" and that's not what I'm talking about.  Otherwise, it's not that I don't like "normal" female voices, but I often don't like the bands that they are in.

Speaking of female vocals, Lethean, what is your opinion on Rolo Tomassi? :lol

Pay no attention to Kattelox; he was probably just trying to get points off the first round.

I've never heard of Rolo Tomassi but whether I'd soon get sick of the vocals or not, seems like they're pretty good.
