Breaking the tie from round 23 of the Symphony X survivor finals. In this division of the survivor, we decide out of all the songs that made it to the finals, which song deserves to win the survivor. The top 29 songs from this division will go on to the finals. Vote for the track you think is the least worthy of winning. If you don't care about voting &/or haven't heard all of the songs, but still want to know the current results, select "(see results without voting)". You cannot see the results otherwise & once you have voted, you cannot change your vote. Round lasts 24 hours.

I just counted, & 10/23 of the finals rounds have had tiebreakers. 

(4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23)

For future survivors we should find ways to avoid this.

Maybe, dunno, counting votes from previous rounds, even though if we implement the "previous votes will count in a tiebreak" rule, one could be tempted to vote for favorite songs, that won't go away anytime soon, but might accumulate a deficit that would work against the song.

Example, if in the Metallica finals with such a rule I vote at the first round for Master of Puppets, no way my lone vote will eliminate that song.... but it might weight on a future tiebreaker because "Hey, look, these songs got the same numer of votes this round, but someone voted Master for the first 5 rounds of the finals".

So this won't probably work.

In my past survivors I had a rule where if two songs got the same number of votes, I'd disregard my own vote & then (if that didn't break the tie already) I'd change it to one of the songs in the tie.

For some reason I didn't think to do that with this one though...

For survivors I ran.... I didn't vote unless there was a tie to break. Doesn't get much easier than that.
