The songs you guys are voting out are way better.
SHAME!
The first song I heard off MoP was Sanitarium when it "premiered" on local radio (105.5 KNAC in the Los Angeles area). I was actually a little disappointed because it seemed too similar to Fade to Black. After the album came out, Disposable Heroes was my favorite song, but it lost some luster over the years. Leper Messiah was the second song that got some airplay, but I was never a fan. Thing never grabbed me. Damage didn't grab me initially, but over time, I feel like it, Battery and the title track are the top three songs on the album. Sanitarium is a slight notch below. The next tier consists of Orion and Heroes, with a slight preference for Orion. It's not that I don't like them, but the other songs are just better IMO.
I have a feeling Sanitarium will win this, but I'd vote it the #4 song on the album, which is a testament to how strong this album is overall.
