Weak link on Van Halen debut album?

Do you consider any of those 10 tracks a weak link on the album?

That's tough. There are several songs that I really don't like, but I don't think I could call them weak links. Silly though it is, Ice Cream Man is a definitive DLR song. Jamie's Crying sucks, but it was a breakout for them. About the most I can say is that there are a couple of songs that seem redundant. You could dump Feel Your Love or Little Dreamer and streamline the album. It wouldn't be much of a loss. But the album is short enough that you couldn't say they were dragging it down.

So I guess I'll got with no, even though Jamie's Crying really sucks balls.

I've never loved Ice Cream Man, but that song always seemed like a signature DLR style VH track.  I wouldn't call it the weak link.  Personally Atomic Punk might be my least favorite, but it's not bad.  I didn't vote.  Not sure there's a true weak link here.

That album is weird like that though; it's not like every song is a classic, but every song fits.  That may be a perfect record in terms of length, sequencing, pacing, etc.    Not sure I'd change a thing.

This. Even though not all of them are killer songs, every time I'm listening to the album I enjoy it front to back without skipping any of them.

I think Atomic Punk is inferior to the other songs but it's still not bad and I would leave it on the record.

And Ice Cream Man is a signature DLR crooning song with a signature EVH solo, nothing wrong with that.

So no really weak link here.

I'd say about half the album qualifies, though Atomic Punk and Ice Cream Man are both pretty egregiously bad.

Atomic Punk or Jamie's Cryin'. Alex Van Halen hates Jamie's Cryin' so I'll go with that one. It's a tough one though, because I love that album, I have childhood memories of playing it nonstop along with 1984.

I like the song, but if I had to choose one I could do without, it would be AP. I love the opening, that's an iconic sound, but it's the only song  I couldn't recite a lyric from--in almost all of Van Halen's discography really.
