Really cool album. I saw it reviewed on Metal Reviews and basically ended up listening to the whole thing. Kinda blackish metal, but it's not like it the whole way through. I don't really know how to describe it.

Avandra's Descender is a pretty cool prog metal record...some interesting vibes, I guess the vocals make it a little more unique. I remember reading a review that likened them to John Mayer, and that's not too crazy a statement

Definitely a trip! And I agree it's hard to describe. Overall, I'd say very theatrical, but not in an overblown way. Closer is great - quite a climax to end the album. Cool stuff, thanks for the tip. Looks like they have a few more interesting albums in their discography.

White Moth Black Butterfly - The Cost of Dreaming

A band with Tesseract's Daniel Tompkins, it's more pop oriented with a lot of synths and electric elements. The interaction between Dan and the female singer is great. I'll give it a few more spins. Very interesting.

Too early to tell after only one listen. I like some parts of it. Out of all the Ayreon albums I've heard so far, I guess this is the one that's the most "musical" (and I really don't like musicals). But I'll keep at it

I've never gotten into country music so I figured I'd give it a shot this morning. I decided to put on Brad Paisley's Play. Man this guy can play, I'm thoroughly enjoying the record. I saw him years ago at a venue I worked at and was impressed by his playing but never gave him a listen until now.
