Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

This album is so good.

Indeed it is! And I only discovered it because it was mentioned in this forum (a while back, before I started posting). Was it you? It's such a unique album, I think. I haven't seen it discussed much elsewhere, which I find surprising...

This album's such a curiosity. If you ever wanted to hear an album where it sounds like the band was trying to self-sabotage it as much as possible yet that's what ends up making it good, here you go. It's like a troll that ends up backfiring. The gradually-increasing volume level in the kickass opening track... the ludicrous levels of distortion on the song Athem that end up transforming a basic butt-rock track into what sounds like a desperate cry for help... it's kinda genius.

As someone who considers themselves as quite a big Wildhearts fan, I'm embarrassed to say I've never heard this album. I'll add it to the queue and get back to you  :tup

It's the only one of theirs I've listened to all the way through. p.h.u.q. came on right afterwards and it's quite the difference in sound. :lol I'm not sure if their "usual" stuff is really for me. I Wanna Go Where The People Go is a nice song though. It's got some serious Devin Townsend vibes (which makes sense considering he was in the band for a little while).

Never heard this album either...I guess for some reason I thought it was one of their B-side collections (of which they have many!). Didn't realize this is their third album proper. Well, I'll have to add it to the queue too.

If you haven't checked out their very first - Earth vs. the Wildhearts - do yourself a favor and listen...it's a great, great album.

I got all excited to tell you that Devy was actually in the band, when I saw you mention him, but you already knew  :sadpanda:

My favourite album of theirs is The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed. Can't say where that ranks with your average fan but it was the first album of theirs I heard, and I just love it. I also love Chutzpah and their last album, both are really good.

Just listening to Endless, Nameless now and I'm not sure I've heard The Wildhearts sound so Industrial! It's pretty good. Definitely worth another listen.

That was my first Wildhearts' album too, and I agree it's fantastic. My favorite is their debut, though.

Anthonie Tonnon - Leave Love Out of This

Very good chance to be my album of the year (and there's an awesome BBT album that just came out).

Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
