DMB: Glad the thread gave me inspiration to go back to these...so, so good.
As for today's releases, Pharaoh and Thy Catafalque, just one listen each, so it's a little early to tell. But...
Pharaoh: agreed on the bad drum sound (unfortunately, that's not unusual for them. But the drumming itself is great!), do not agree on the vocals. Wasn't crazy about Tim Aymar on Control Denied's album, but I really enjoy him in Pharaoh. Liked the album on first listen, looking forward to spinning it again.
Thy Catafalque: this was quite the ride, as usual. I'm a relative newcomer to Tamás Kátai's world, but I've been enjoying the discovery. It's great how he manages to incorporate all of the different sounds and influences and yet sound "catchy" and unpretentious (relatively speaking
