So in the last few years, I've been listening to this Jpop artist name Aimer.  She has some pretty good albums and I was really impressed by one of them (Sun Dance) back in 2019 where I deemed it my second favorite album of the year.  That was one of two albums she released at the same time.  The other was called Penny Rain and I liked the polarity of both albums where Sun Dance was the upbeat poppy vibrant album and Penny Rain was the softer darker more orchestral album.  She released a new album last week called Walpurgis and sadly, Spotify doesn't have it in full, so I decided to buy it off of iTunes.  Thankfully, knowing how much Japan charges on anything music-related, I only bought it for less than $10.00. No matter, I expect this to be a solid one.

Walpurgis?  Sabbath cover?  (The original title of "War Pigs" was "Walpurgis", and there are early live versions with those lyrics.)

Great minds; I was in the car the other day and played that same record.  It IS a good record, and it does have all the elements you'd expect from early Ozzy Sabbath.

Nope, no Sabbath cover.  She based the name of the album on the holiday and their bonfire tradition.  That stated, she released a song called Black Bird a while back and it's not an Alter Bridge or Beatles cover (although the inspiration from that title may have came from the Beatles since the album she released that song from was called Penny Rain and the album cover was her in Penny Lane in the rain).

Really melodic, even slightly symphonic, with harsh (Death?) vocals. Enjoying this very much.

Not a fan of blues rock at all but I like this.

I completely changed my mind. Mediocre album without a single original riff or melody. Typical blues rock basically.

For some reason I think that's funny (haha, funny).

I changed my mind again. :lol It’s decent despite being unoriginal.

Yesterday. I started my new modeling career yesterday.

I've been on a Maiden kick lately. Now returning to the very first album I bought back in 2003 when it was released and I was getting into heavy metal as a 12 year old kid. It still holds up pretty good, some cool tracks for sure, like the dramatic rocker Rainmaker, very heavy Montsegur, or epic Paschendale. I think I enjoy this one more than The Book of Souls or Final Frontier, both of which I revisited a week ago or so. Maybe nostalgia plays its part, but for me this is one of the better albums of the 2000's era.

Diamond Head - Lightning To The Nations. Never heard this before - they just passed me by back in the day. Damn, I loved it. Played the re-recorded version.

Issa - Queen Of Broken Hearts. Loved this too, and I really didn’t expect to.
