i dug the new album, maybe more overall than the last one, but it doesn't have a song as good as children of the obsidian light

I can't recall. I thought Tim was somewhat lukewarm on them. The new one I find pretty easy to get into but yeah, I wanted a big epic too like COTOL.

Cyril sent them to me and I thought they did well. I haven't had a chance to dig into the new one yet. May fix that tonight.

Yes, COTOL was what I was sent. I just listened to it. That's a great song. I listened to the first could tracks on the new one. Ghosts Of The Past, musically, is awesome, but I don't really care for these vocals. They seem more guttural than the ones on COTOL.

This may end up being a pass for me because of the vocals. They're not really in my "zone".

Went back to this today after a couple of weeks. Still loving this album. Great compositions and the vocal melodies on the clean vocals are really memorable.

This, Witherfall, and Tribulation are this year's Top 3 so far for me.

It's excellent, but the novelty wore off pretty quick for me.

If you decide to go further, the albums on either side (In Color, Dream Police) are stellar too. I actually like Dream Police better. It might be my favorite Cheap Trick record (and I'm a BIG fan).

I figured Antimatter would be fairly well known around these parts since Duncan Patterson was in Anathema for about 7 years. I have all their albums except the one you just posted, guess I'll pick it up now

I totally get it that different people have different tastes but this album is just awful. Why does he insist on using so much falsetto? I might have been able to accept some of the music on this but his new vocal style is pure fingernails on a chalk board to my ears.
