Roy Z has the best crunch tone in the business, IMO. Great album.

That Soul Intruders riff is a fine example.

Why Kiss hasn't sued Starmen yet is beyond me.  The lead singer is a dead ringer for Paul Stanley.  That was a very nice listen.  And Kade... I don't know what you're talking about - that Heart Healer album was as good as anything else MK has done in the last 5 years - better than Allen/Olzon, that's for sure.  Last track was a dud, but overall a decent enough effort all around.  Orden Ogan was good, but man are they a 'samey' band.  I couldn't tell you one album from another if my life depended on it.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

I'm looking at that album cover, and MAN, some faces just aren't made for full face makeup (top right).

I don't know if it's possible to copyright a style of makeup.   They definitely look very remeniscent of Kiss

If there is, I'm sure Gene knows it!

You should LISTEN to them if you think they LOOK like Kiss.  They sound even MORE like Kiss.

Thunder - fantastic
Therion - meh
Sunstorm -  It was good, but not great - and I'm not stuffed that it's Ronnie vs JLT.
Secret Sphere - Frontiers level "solid"
Voodoo Circle - ditto.

Listened to this for the first time just now. I think this is really good, and even though I've only listened to it once, I wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being one of my all-time favorite albums at some point in the future; it wouldn't be the first (or even second) time that I loved an album featuring Neal Morse!

Just some of the new releases this week.

New MONO Live album is looong, but pretty good.
Really surprised by how much I love this new Rob Zombie album. It just has some really good songs, what else is there to say?
The new Valtari is ok, pretty standard stuff but might give it a second listen.
Live Devin at his best. He's great, we all know this, not much other to say than I love his solo acoustic performances  :hefdaddy

We're looking at moving in the next few months - just two towns over, across the river.  We went looking at a house about a week or so ago, and the agent printed out the Wiki page for the town. Under "Notable Residents" was Joe Bouchard, Blue Oyster Cult.

First time actually listening to this in its entirety. There's definitely some cringey bits here and the whole middle of the album feels way too bloated. But I still mostly enjoy The Poet And The Pendulum, and the last stretch of the album starting at The Islander is pretty strong.

As far as Neal Morse solo albums go, this may be the high water mark.  There is just something really special about this one.
