This album slays  :metal   I'm surprised I'm not seeing it pop up in here too much

3 spins for this to start sinking in but it's one of the better progressive metal albums I've heard in the last year or so.  100% clean vocals.  Kind of a unique voice, takes a bit of getting used to, at least it did for me, but he's actually quite good.  I think this is their debut and I'm honestly not crazy about the mix but if it is a debut this a very promising group because this good, maybe even 4 stars good.

I've listened to this one after seeing your recommendation in this thread! Dachau is My Destiny or whatever it was called is amazing.

Chad, if you're going to run a roulette anytime soon, don't listen to this.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

i shouldn't chime in but i don't get the hype behind that iotunn album, it sounds like every other melodeath album except the songs are longer and very mildly proggy but the sound itself feels really flat, idk

Sleep - Dopesmoker
Secret Chiefs 3 - Xaphan: Book of Angels Vol. 9
Jesu - Terminus
Human by Nature (prog-infused psychedelic metal): https://linktr.ee/hbnearth
Our debut album "Eläimys" is a trip I can whole-heartedly recommend to anyone into Pain of Salvation, Opeth, The Mars Volta, Magma etc.

Impressions:
Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise starts kinda slow for the first third of the album, but everything after that is pretty great.
Maps of Non-Existent Places is really enjoyable from start to finish.

Glad you are digging them. I think Act IV starts perfectly, The Old Haunt and Waves are two of my fave Dear Hunter songs, but that's just me. I hope you revisit as that album is hands down my number 1 DTF discovery!

TYS's debut was the only full album they'd released when I started listening and holy shit I played this album so much. Its6a toss up between their debut and Terraformer for their best album but all three are amazing (and the EP is pretty good too). Enjoy.

This album is awesome! I've always liked Chevelle, but never expected them to incorporate some proggy elements to their music.

I really like the beginning of Act IV as well. The Old Haunt is a particular favorite for me; its chorus is completely awesome on its own, and went to the next level after I heard The March.

I do feel with both Act IV and Act II that, while they don't have any glaring weak points, they both run a little long and are hard to listen to in one sitting. Act V is the only 70+ minute Dear Hunter album that doesn't drag for me in the least.
And if spirit's a sign,
Then it's only a matter of time

That's a good album.

From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Witherfall - Curse of Autumn

First impression: quite a lot to digest, need a few more spins. The guitar work is impressive. Some songs (especially ...And They All Blew Away) give me a kind a DT - I&W vibe. That includes the awful snare sound, a choice I don't really understand for this album.
