Impressions:
Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise starts kinda slow for the first third of the album, but everything after that is pretty great.
Maps of Non-Existent Places is really enjoyable from start to finish.
Glad you are digging them. I think Act IV starts perfectly, The Old Haunt and Waves are two of my fave Dear Hunter songs, but that's just me. I hope you revisit as that album is hands down my number 1 DTF discovery!
I really like the beginning of
Act IV as well. The Old Haunt is a particular favorite for me; its chorus is completely awesome on its own, and went to the next level after I heard The March.
I do feel with both
Act IV and
Act II that, while they don't have any glaring weak points, they both run a little long and are hard to listen to in one sitting.
Act V is the only 70+ minute Dear Hunter album that doesn't drag for me in the least.
