First time listening to it, quite interesting. They went almost full shoegaze here.

I think that's why I didn't 'get' Deftones back when this came out. They were just doing something so different to their peers and just sounded unlike anything I was listening to in the mid noughties. After listening through their whole back catalogue, over the past week or so, I've come to the conclusion they've not recorded a bad album!

Focus: Focus Con Proby (which btw, features a then lesser-known Steve Smith on drums, this was right in between Jean Luc Ponty and Journey for him)

Yeah they're quite unique, and I agree, so far I've got to find a bad record of theirs, or even just a boring one. Let's hope Gore doesn't break that for me :lol

First listen to Steven Wilson's new album, released today.

Same, followed by new Soen.

THE FUTURE BITES is fine so far. I'm hardly a huge Steven Wilson fan but I did really love To The Bone. I'll probably revisit a few times but I can't see myself wanting to listen to it anywhere near as much as the last album.

Let's see what the new Soen is like. I feel like the new Dirty Nil album is still going to be my album of the year so far, once the day is through.

Pretty good so far.  It usually takes a few listens for one of these to sink in.  I did notice it's quite short.  Almost EP length it felt like.
