ELP - Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends...
That album's quite the undertaking, for any group of musicians and especially for Edu some 15 years down the line. I've seen the live video popping up recently. Do you reckon it's worth checking out?
I'd say it's definitely worth checking out. I picked up the Bluray when it released and it's a really fun watch. Edu actually sounds really good on this release and he even got Aquiles Priester to play drums for the show. Also the 2 guitarists he got for this are amazingly good.
I watched this (Edu Falaschi's live rendition of Angra's album Temple of Shadows). Cheers Pups, it was well-worth seeing! Although the band did indeed seem to pull it off admirably, I have my doubts on the actual live-ness of it all. Edu singing better than when Angra toured the album back in the day is a bit suspect.
It was nice hearing a proper orchestra perform all the symphonic parts and embellishments. Using Gate XIII as an overture made a lot of sense.
I'm not a fan of that all-too-common Kemper/AxeFX guitar tone both guitarists had here, especially compared to the warm, punchy tones of the original.
