Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou - May Our Chambers Be Full

Best collaboration of the year. Her compelling vocals fit perfect with their doom/sludge downtuned riffs

If you like good music you do! ;D

I discovered them a couple of years ago. They released an album, On The Eve Of A Goodbye, and I was blown away by it. I sent it to Puppies (I think) in his roulette and he loved it too. It seemed to catch on. It's an intense story telling the tale of a friend of his that killed herself.

The Oubliette is a similar concept album about a guy with Alzheimer's.  But this is much heavier. Some growls used throughout. The Nightmare uses them almost exclusively.

But sample The Captive!
The video is here..
https://thereticent.net/videos

The playing is amazing on this.

You can order these (CD or d-load) really cheap from their website.
https://thereticent.net/music

There's a really unique version of Fade To Black there too.

The Captive was pretty good, but man that's an Opeth copy if ever Ì've heard one.

Took the words right out of my mouth. This scratches the pre-Heritage Opeth itch.

Just finished this. Think an acoustic Damnation. So chill and soothing. Loved it.

I can see that, but I've never really gotten into Opeth for some reason.

They are a tough one to take to, I'll admit that.  I'll check more from The Reticent, because it was very good.

I gave them a go in the dark ages when I was struggling to find things to listen to. Everyone was saying I would love them as I was into DT. Er no.
The music was awesome but the growls...
I hoped they would get rid of them so I looked forward to Heritage. Wow, that was bland.
I did enjoy the last album though.

I meant more that things were so dark you were trying a band like Opera to get your fix.  Pure desperation.  :lol
