I won't argue that cause they both kick the shit out of every other Angra album, both in songwriting, singing, and production :2metal:

Hard to argue that ('specially with the bonus 2nd/live disc).  Fabio was fantastic all around..

It's solid but I never really fully got the love for it truthfully.

WOW; other than the Angra (just not familiar with it, no judgement) that is a QUALITY list right there.  All over the map, but quality.

The UK Ultimate Edition box set.  Holy moly did I unearth a treasure trove HERE.

Urgh, I can't stand Sophie Ellis-Bextor. I don't even know why!

Bonobo is pretty cool though. My wife is a big fan, we went to see him a few years ago. Not 100% my jam, but it was fun.

The Sophie album was fine enough, but coming on the heels of that Paloma Faith album - which is very easily going to slide into my top 10 albums of the year - it failed to hold my interest much. Don't have anything negative to say about it other than it just wasn't compelling to me, though. Bonobo freaking rules - home introduced me to him a couple years ago with Migration, and that album (and Black Sands) are my favorites. The North Borders is awesome too, though.

EDIT: now it's Ólafur Arnalds - Some Kind of Peace. Had no idea this was out, thankfully I'm only a couple weeks late. Beautiful, and the first song features Bonobo  :heart

"Bird Problems"; I like that, actually.  I'm not sure what "Bird Problems" are (a stiff breeze?  No hay for a nest?) but it's an intriguing name.

Creed - Full Circle, I didn't expect much and I didn't get much.

yeah. it's alright but people making the oceansize comparison are getting way ahead of themselves

Nachtmerrie

Two new releases:

Light Field Reverie - Another World  --> I have a weak spot for Heike Langhans (Draconian) voice. Her doomy, atmospheric vocals fit perfect with a variation of synths, doomy riffs, post metal influences and occasional blastbeats.

pg.lost - Oscillate --> instrumental postrock. Difficult to describe after just one listen but the first word that comes to mind is: compelling. Almost an hour but it felt al lot shorter which more often isn't the case with instrumental albums.

I'm in a cover-band group that tackles whole classic-rock albums one at a time.  We were going to start with "The Grand Illusion" by Styx but we need two keyboard players for it and right now we only have one keyboard player so we decided to try an easier album this time, since we have a great vocalist who is in this range in terms of pitch...

I had forgotten how good this album is.  There really aren't any bad songs on here.  It's going to be a fun challenge to find the keyboard patches I need to replicate these sounds.

This is a pretty fucking awesome live album. The setlist and performances are top-notch. If you're looking to get into the band I think this is an excellent place to start (nudge nudge, Ariich and Sacul!)
