That is the first Ozric Tentacles album I've ever heard; I might have to check out Technicians of the Sacred sometime.
The leader/guitarist/keyboardist of the band also put out a solo album in 2019. It's an Ozric Tentacles album in everything but name, and one of their best.
Ed Wynne - "Shimmer Into Nature"
I've listened to every Ozrics album, including the 80s releases. There is an evolution to their sound over time, but it is not so noticeable album to album. But if you listen to almost any 80s album, the put on one of their early 90s albums, like Erpland or Strangeitude, then one from the late 90s/early 00s like Spirals in Hyperspace, and then one of the more recent albums, there is noticeable difference in sound.
My favorite era is the early 90s, it is the perfect mix of "metal" Pink Floyd mixed with world music and groove. Over time they have increased the electronic aspect of their music, and are more keyboard heavy in the later albums. I like all incarnations of Ozrics, but I think their recent albums have been most exciting since the 90s, like the aforementioned Technicians of the Sacred, the Ed Wynne album, or the new album.
