Deftones - Ohms

I was pretty underwhelmed by the singles and the random songs I heard, but listening to this as a whole I'm starting to dig it, actually - Error is a beautiful track for instance. Just wished it wasn't mastered so loud.

I'd never even heard of her before playing it. I thought it was gorgeous. I'm not sure if it's indicative of darkwave or the rest of her works because it's all pipe organ but it was extremely nice to listen to and I liked being able to hear her feet work the pedals on a genuine organ - lovely stuff. Great surprise.

Nice, looking forward to it. I recommend you her album Ceremony as it features plenty of pipe organs

Edit: another very pretty record, less somber than All Thoughts Fly but very good. I enjoyed the last track very much. I like this artist.

I listened to this today and was really impressed. Nice to have a concept album that is so real and hard hitting. Quite sobering and really well executed. Now to work backwards through their albums.

Yeah I tried the 2012 album and wasn't impressed. On the Eve of a Goodbye is amazing though. Even more hard hitting than this one I think.

Man, between this and that Rannoch album I'm starting to wonder if this style of progressive metal just doesn't do it for me anymore. $:-\$

Also, did we really need that speech at the end of the album to let us know that alzheimer's is bad? Like, we couldn't infer that from everything that came before it? Yeesh.

I'll put it on next, thanks for the heads up! Sufjan is certainly an artist I want to hear more of.

EDIT: Wrapping up Tori Amos's To Venus and Back but unfortunately the only songs that really stood out and stuck with me were the two Stadler sent me, Josephine and Glory of the 80s. It all has a nice enough sound though. Datura is too weird and too long.
