I was checking this out earlier and I Saved it on Spotify. It has some great drumming, and it's really cool rhythmically. Doesn't strike me as straightforward Death Metal. It's more like Death Metal Primus. It's cool though.

I think the Alice in Chains - Unplugged album is better (Alice in Chains is just better in general), but that Nirvana one is still good.

I was never a big AIC guy. I bought Facelift when it came out, but never really followed them after that. I did buy the AIC Unplugged, but I thought it kind of blew. I sold it at a Used CD shop.

Check out Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!, it's the best of their later stuff imo.

Damn I already liked this album but I feel it growing on me, as I can relate quite a bit to the lyrics about love and trauma. Very maximalist music despite the themes being introspective. Plenty of lovely electronics along with acoustic folk instrumentation. Impossible Soul is one of the most powerful epics I've heard in a while.

I can see how you'd say that, but to me, that was the charm. It feels a bit stripped down, and it didn't really over tax me. I liked it.
