I love Al's album, one of my favourites by him.
Right now, it's Hiromi: Voice
before that was Toto: The Seventh One, Old Is New and Kingdom Of Desire (in that order)

just so you know, Steven Wilson recently did a remix and remaster of Warszawa which now consists of the entire show. It's splendid (if you like the pre-Harrison era of the band) and it sounds a lot better than the original edition, see here: https://porcupinetreeofficial.bandcamp.com/album/warszawa-2020-remaster

Not as many synths, not as many layers, singing isn't as exuberant as most groups go for. Male singer, too. But a lot of the usual tropes are there right down to a saxophone popping up. Still really good though, that kind of helps it stand out.

Aleah - Aleah

Compelling, beautiful and emotional.

Svart Records is proud to release the new posthumous solo album by Aleah Liane Stanbridge, better known as Aleah Starbridge, singer of the Swedish/Finnish band Trees of Eternity. Aleah passed away in 2016 after a brave fight with cancer. She was just 39 years old when she left this mortal coil, but ALEAH’s eternal spirit lives on through her beautiful music, realised in her solo album brought to fruition by her life partner and Swallow The Sun/Trees of Eternity guitarist, Juha Raivio.

I could have sworn it was Gavin Harrison on that live album....huh.

Oh that's cool, save it for my next roulette then :metal

Ok so the first listen was meh but now I'm really digging it. Starts off kinda like yet another indie rock album but gets more and more diverse and interesting, touching on electronic, art rock, post-rock, and more. Really cool.

Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

Yes! There's two amazing guest performances as well, Johannes Persson of Cult of Luna and Fredrik Kihlberg of Cult of Luna do guest vocals on Fearless and Glimmer respectively. I feel like you would love tracks like Glimmer, Melt, Love And Pain especially.

The debut is arguably a bit darker than the self-titled EP and also heavier. Before felt more like singer-songwriter and now it truly feels like a post-rock band with some sparse metal touches, but the vocals are still the center of attention.

I also thought it was coming out later this month :lol kinda surprise dropped for me but I'm happy it did!

I think Melt was the single? Because I've definitely heard that one and got excited for the album after that. I'll check it out today.

The first single was All I Asked For, the second was Melt indeed and the third was Love And Pain

My personal favourite is Fearless but I don’t know how you feel about the Cult of Luna vocals, I think they’re arguably my favourite band so I’m obviously biased. But Glimmer features vocals of a CoL member that normally doesn’t do vocals but he is amazing too.
