Not an album, but I'm listening to my 1981 Hard Rock playlist on Spotify. Easily my favorite year of music.
Now I'm curious what's on this playlist... Rush? Judas Priest? Def Leppard? Triumph? Ozzy? I can't remember if you are a fan of Journey....

Yeah, I have a similar list for 1977 through 1985. I'm happy to share if anyone is interested. When I play one, I put it on shuffle.

I'm always happy to add if anyone thinks I missed something. But is has to be hard rock. I have Styx, Pat Benatar, Journey. But it has to be heavy songs.

Okay, I said that poorly. There was a little more diversity in the list than I expected. You've carefully built a reputation as a one trick pony.

So, is your 1981 list just for songs that came out that year? I noticed a lack of Animal Magnetism songs...

Huh. I think The Zoo could absolutely be there but I find it a bit too plodding for what I was going for. Plus, I think that album blows big time. The Scorps are definitely in my other playlists for their respective years.

Finally listening to the remaster. There's definitely a bit more of room to breathe overall, and I'm picking up little details with more clarity.

Thus begins another week of playing catch-up... keep falling farther behind. This is a neat little sound...

Wasn't a huge fan of this, sounds like something in-between Beardfish and Witchcraft but not as compelling as either one.. but that's just me

out of these, Graveyard was a first-time listen for me. Surprisingly good stoner rock. The instrumental parts get pretty close to Kansas stuff sometimes, while the riffs and vocals are more Witchcraft-like. Oh Sweden, you and your endless pool of quality music :corn
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Train, I agree, I finished it and just found nothing that stuck with me. Real shame too because that cover art is gorgeous. The next album after that was even worse. Now I'm listening to this, and hoping it's better. We'll see...

edit: nope :neverusethis:

edit 2: oh this is more interesting for sure - not sure if it's GOOD, but it's certainly more... curious

igorrr friggin' sucks tbh

like in the top 10 "artists i have the least respect for" tbh the music always sounds awful and people give it a pass for being "experimental" when it's mostly just the same trick over and over, ie. "lol breakcore"

Yeah I know nothing about the artist, never heard of him before. Just found this on my list and threw it on. Definitely hearing some weird shit going on here. Interesting on the first go round but not quite sure I'd ever go back to something as weird as this but mad props on the harpsichord + electronic mix and dope cover art

Oh. This album has a guest appearance from George "Corpsegrinder" "The Neck" Fisher, from Cannibal Corpse. Okay then  :lol

One of the finest metal albums I've heard all year. Melodeath, but it's dripping with melody and groove and rhythm, and no two songs are alike. The growls are aggressive but not too guttural, the words have enough clarity and enunciation to mostly understand what he's singing. There's an awesome harpsichord + dancey-synth breakdown in the song Sealing Our Fate. The Pt. 2 of the title track at the end of the record is this super triumphant, clouds-parting type of 10 minute epic. What a fucking cool album. Strongly recommended. Have not heard a single person talking about this band or record, so check it out on Spotify.

I have a backlog, so since you brought it up, I figured I'd knock this out tonight.

Holy hell, this is a fantastic album, and definitely purchase worthy.  :metal :metal

Really fucking great!

Looks like one for me.

I'm missing something.  Turned it off during the 4th song.  Didn't like this at all.  The snare sound is terrible too.  Don't like the vocalist at all.

Yob - Our Raw Heart
Oranssi Pazuzu - Mestarin kynsi
Van der Graaf Generator - The Least We Can Do Is Wave To Each Other
Ulcerate - Stare Into Death And Be Still
Human by Nature (prog-infused psychedelic metal): https://linktr.ee/hbnearth
Our debut album "Eläimys" is a trip I can whole-heartedly recommend to anyone into Pain of Salvation, Opeth, The Mars Volta, Magma etc.

Both great.  Both similar quality too, it's hard to split them.  They are near identical really and you couldn't tell them apart without knowing them but both do the job nicely.
