I think The Zoo could absolutely be there but I find it a bit too plodding for what I was going for. Plus, I think that album blows big time. The Scorps are definitely in my other playlists for their respective years.

One of the finest metal albums I've heard all year. Melodeath, but it's dripping with melody and groove and rhythm, and no two songs are alike. The growls are aggressive but not too guttural, the words have enough clarity and enunciation to mostly understand what he's singing. There's an awesome harpsichord + dancey-synth breakdown in the song Sealing Our Fate. The Pt. 2 of the title track at the end of the record is this super triumphant, clouds-parting type of 10 minute epic. What a fucking cool album. Strongly recommended.
