The Magnetic Fields - 69 Love Songs

A massive triple album about, well, love. The good parts, and the bad ones too. Really nice so far, some wonderful Indie Pop / Folk music here.

Never heard of them before, I liked it.  With Lenny Wolf as the singer, definitely sounds a bit like Kingdom Come.

ooh this is some real TDH worship right here. concept album, rock opera etc, same post-hardcore theatrical style & even similar vocals & the same person did the mastering who's worked a lot for TDH before, i believe. biggest issue i have is that it's all a bit... samey, compared to TDH. no oompa loompa stuff, which i appreciate, but also not really much in the way of ballads or breather tracks. still think it's pretty good & the story (from what i can make out) is pretty neat too

This is so weird, it's like Proto Noise Rock but way before it was even a thing. Very noisy and loud, reminds me a bit of Boris, but it's so beautiful, with some really gorgeous melodies. The bass + guitar duo sound quite similar to plenty of GYBE!'s early material, so maybe there's an influence from here. But yeah, digging it a lot :metal

Last 7 days... didn't really have anything come out last week that I was interested in. Psychotic Waltz, sure, but I'm not crazy about it

From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Yeah they're one of the very few modern power metal bands that I think have mastered the 'big hook energy' that power metal demands. I saw them live at ProgPower 2018 which was somehow the first time I had even heard of them, and they kicked major ass. Nosferatu is a jam.

Just listened to the new Demons & Wizards album. Got halfway through the final song (10 minutes long) before I just turned it off. This album is a massive disappointment

This album is a surprise. I mean, I knew it would be good, but they hit it out of the park on this one. They seriously upped their game on this.

Go West - Indian Summer (out of pure curiosity because I like the song King of Wishful Thinking).

Edit: contains a lot of gratuitous sax.

Second edit: contains back to back tracks titled “That’s What Love Can Do” and “What You Won’t Do For Love.”
