RYM just sheeps whatever fantano says 90% of the time
About 50% of the time Fantano is like right on about an album, the other 50% he is so far off base I wonder if he has an evil twin.

His review of Parallax II is really funny, but it’s to be expected. One single person can’t like everything, as much as he tries to be objective he obviously has his preferences as a human being

I only ever watch Anthony Fantano these days for the top 2017 music memes, that’s his best video by far

Fantano just isn't into 99% of modern prog rock/metal, which is a bit disappointing because I really enjoy watching him, but them's tastes.

I bought those albums together on the same day. I thought both were disappointing initially, but both had really aged well.

I cannot believe this is the same singer of Sons Of Apollo. Marching Out is a Top 5 Vocal for me.

CLINT LOWERY - GOD BLESS THE RENEGADES

Arguably why when most the material here could've featured on any Sevendust album now or then but really is what one would expect given Clint has been a major part of that original Sevendust sound anyway and there's much meaning behind many of these lyrics too which makes for a great listen personal recommendation being Silver Lining \m/

AMORPHIS - SKYFORGER

Personal fave of the Amorphis catalog, from opener Sampo to Godlike closing there's more bang fer this fans buck than on any other Amorphis record albeit most their albums stack up, all very close behind if not arguably equal... Personal recommendation Silver Bride \m/

Skyforger is :metal Under the Red Cloud came close to topping it but now that four years have passed, I still prefer Skyforger, just an amazing album.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Every Amorphis album I've heard since Skyforger sounds the same and I get bored 4 songs in, but Skyforger, the first 8 tracks are all masterpieces. The last ones, eh, but that 8 song run makes it one of my favorite metal albums. Sky Is Mine  :heart

This is what I listened to the most over the last 7 days:

From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.

Exactly what I think. I haven listened to all their discography up to "The Beginning of Times" and I would say most albums they released after Elegy sound the same pretty much, nothing interesting or new. Some albums have less growls, some more but the songs in them all sound the same. Their first three albums are very very good though.

Only Amorphis album I've heard in full is the most recent one. They kinda seem like one of those bands where I'll enjoy a few isolated songs (The Bee, Sampo, Silent Waters) but a full album of their stuff doesn't have much appeal for me

Really liked his previous album 2012 - 2017, and I'm digging this one. Very different though, this is a lot noisier, more glitchy, industrial, experimental.
