Easily my album of the year so far - can't stop playing this one.

Did Eminem release a Brutal Death Metal album?

No, but he does commit straight up murder with his rhymes and flow on this one

He released, from the consensus I've seen, a very mediocre album

Big shocker, everybody's said that for every record Eminem's released since Relapse (which legitimately did suck). Recovery was good, Marshall Mathers LP 2 was good, Revival was good, Kamikaze was good, MTBMB is good, people are just salty and bagging on Em's new stuff is always the cool thing to do for some reason

This one has a number of killer songs: Unaccommodating, Godzilla, Darkness, Lock It Up, Farewell, No Regrets... young fresh guest appearances, slick modern beats, so many great verses, rhyme schemes, TONS of hilarious and clever wordplay, it's a real good record.

Revival was good

I don’t listen to Eminem but I’m fairly certain you’re in the minority on that one.  :lol

I stand by it, too. Literally half the record consists of bangers imo.

Believe, Chloraseptic, Bad Husband, Framed, Offended, Castle, Arose... all awesome songs. The rest are of questionable quality but those songs make the album good enough to pass 'good' in my book. Absolutely not one of his best records, but it's nowhere near as bad as people say it is. It is merely 'good' - the highs are balanced by the lows. When he's in his flow on that record he's really, really good. And the Chloraseptic remix murders.

This is... interesting. :lol Mix of industrial pop and more metal-oriented songs that sound like an infinitely more fucked-up version of Babymetal.

I heard a couple of songs from this the other day. I didn’t know what to make of what I was hearing. Your description is on the mark. Much strangeness.

Sweet Billy Pilgrim - Motorcade Amnesiacs

Been spinning this pretty regularly since just before Christmas, came back to it tonight again. Really great songwriting. Diverse, rich album that’s hard to describe. Kind of hipster/pop prog I guess. Just one great song after another with layers of instrumentation and lots of fun twists and turns.

same thy catafalque formula of gimmicky songwriting that we've seen on roka hasa, meta, and geometra. heavier than the last one so it's basically just meta again tbh. ok

My first listen was decently positive. I know Meta wasn't exactly the most memorable album in existence but you probably need to listen to it again if you think this is anywhere near as heavy. :lol Honestly it's not even as heavy as Geometria, I don't think. Lots of mellow ambient sections and the few metal bits are a lot more restrained than they've been on the previous records.
