My three Rush 'Greatest Hits' compilations (yeah, I know....'just three?' ;))

All chronological.  Except, due to my first concert in '79, Disc One starts with 'Siloquoy / Temples of Syrinx' and ends with 'Grand Finale'.  Disc Two begins with 'Subdivisions' and ends with 'Closer To The Heart' from 'A Show Of Hands'. Disc Three starts with 'Animate'.

And then my 'Guess Who' compilation, due to the Canadian band thread.

And then, my two favorite albums:  Queen's 'Sheer Heart Attack' and 'A Night At The Opera'.   I needed the shift in gears .
...going along with Dragon Attack's Queen thread has been like taking a free class in Queen knowledge. Where else are you gonna find info like that?!

That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".

The remix of this album is just amazing! I loved this album when it first came out, but it was fatiguing to listen to. The remix fixes 90% of the clipping and it just plain sounds better.

A classic. I love the whole album, but Farmer in the City, The Cockfighter, Bouncer See Bouncer... and Portrait (A single) are standouts for me.

I'll continue with my Rush marathon once I'm back home. I've made my way from Fly By Night to Test for Echo.

Currently at work, I'm listening to Watchtower's Concepts of Math: Book One. Dysrhythmia's Terminal Threshold is up next. I had no idea they'd come out with a new album last year!
Human by Nature (prog-infused psychedelic metal): https://linktr.ee/hbnearth
Our debut album "Eläimys" is a trip I can whole-heartedly recommend to anyone into Pain of Salvation, Opeth, The Mars Volta, Magma etc.

last night it was Rush: Snakes And Arrows Live (which features Between The Wheels, one of my favourite Rush pieces concerning the ideas and the songwriting, massive bass sound by Geddy too)
right now it's Yes: Drama

Haven't listened to it yet, am only familiar with Scott 4, The Drift, and Bisch Bosch, but it feels like I should give it a spin soon.

Farmer in the City is probably his best song. So dark, but also beautiful.

Brutus - Nest

I was completely blown away after 30 seconds of their song War on YouTube. Love the pure, raw energy of both the music and the female vocals.

Postmetal/punk rhytms with shoegaze (think Alcest) melodies and almost poppy vocal lines.

Recommended!

I was never sold on the vocals like 90% of the time, but War is... fantastic, one of the best songs of 2019 (even though I think the single was already out in 2018). Also, this is a must-see live band, their on-stage energy is unparalleled. Not like they're doing any crazy stuff, but they just translate that raw energy you hear in the music very well to the live setting.

After living under a rock for nearly 2 months, I finally checked out one of the most talked about (tech) death metal records of the year. Great stuff, especially the closer.

The logo for that band looks like it sounds like the static channel on a TV
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.
