I hit that this afternoon. I love Neil's drumming on this. He was already awesome. B,B & B in particular.

This comradery of Rush warms my heart. This being my favorite of theirs was the first to hit the playlist. Will be spinning the rest of their discography in the days to come.

Lonk

Listened to a bunch of Rush music earlier while doing my taxes.

On my way home from work tonight I played Tom Sawyer, Available Light, and The Garden.  Lost it on Alex's guitar solo on The Garden.

I'm hitting COS today. I only had time yesterday for Hemispheres, which I went to immediately, and then Fly BY Night, which as you say, it started.

Playing Counterparts right now! Moving on to Power Windows next..

Bentower

2112, coming up on Tears. Fittingly.

I should personally thank someone in Awake-era Dream Theater for playing this song at Ronnie Scott's. It totally piqued my interest in Rush when I got the bootleg mp3 way back when. They weren't a staple on Finnish radio so I missed out on Tom Sawyer et al. I wasn't yet ready for Stick It Out when that got played on MTV some years prior.

I did Signals last night, Subdivisions and Analog Kid were really hard to hear, they deeply affected teen me, and still can with old as fuck me.

Probably go back to Caress of Steel today, and do a run through.

Signals was my first studio album as a new fan. and I remember being so disappointed with it. It was so new wave. But goddamn has it aged great and is one of my favorites.

I spent my whole sophomore year in school with that album.

Just checked, and found out it was released on my 13th birthday. Damn man.

That was two weeks before my 14th birthday which was the beginning of my Freshman year. You sure that wasn't your 8th grade school year?

The Walrus

What I've listened to over the past week. That Weyes Blood album gets better each time. Listening to Rage's "Wings of Rage" again atm which came out yesterday. First time ever listening to an album of theirs actually. I don't know if I'd call it bad, but it's super generic heavy metal. Good for fans of that sound but it's been done a thousand million times already.

It was, but the album didn't click with me till I was a sophomore. Middle school was more Yes and The Who oriented, especially Tommy. The movie had a mini revival in my area when I was in 7th grade, and all the girls fell for Daultrey. It was probably the only time I listened to "popular" music, so I took advantage of it. :lol

By the time I hit high school, I was a loner geek again, and Signals was waiting and ready for me. (senior year was when I found Marillion and IQ, and really told popular music to fuck off altogether)
