Lovely album, thanks for reminding me of this one, Sacul. Wrapping it up now. What a voice. Love the smokey bar atmosphere, as usual.

You're welcome . I'm surprised by how much I liked it, having never dug her previous works. Guess this one just feels a lot more mature in the instrumentation and the vocal delivery is more honest, without gimmicks.

Ashbringer - Absolution (more Agalloch-y folk/blackmetal)
Obsidian Tide - Pillars of Creation (Prog metal, somewhere between Tool and Opeth)

I have already listened to everything I had set out on my list, plus Evermind's (except one), and I'll start on these tonight. Making much better time than I expected

That Illyria album was insane. Any album that leaves an impression like that deserves some dwelling on and considerable recognition in my year-end ranking. Wheel's "Moving Backwards" is gonna have to wait til tomorrow, but the first song is

Beach House - Bloom

Speaking of Beach House, I finally went back and revisited Teen Dream. For whatever reason it just wasn't clicking with me the first few times I heard it, but going back to it, I'm really enjoying it. Gotta commit to the rest of their discography now.

Really cool album. But it's a double album spanning 109 minutes.

Drop the needle on any one song and it's cool AF. But damn, There's a lot to chew on here. Really chill.

Over the last couple days I've heard over 20 albums but the last one I tried I had to put down: Bent Knee - You Know What They Mean. I got through Shiny Eyed Babies easily enough, although her voice grated on me at times, but on this one, I had to tap out after just a couple songs. Her voice is so annoying, but the music was doing some interesting things, so I'm sad I had to turn it off. Maybe I'll go back to it.

Just listened to this. Only Tool vibes I got were on the last song, but it was still more compelling than anything Tool has written imo. Some really interesting riffs and guitar playing on this record. Dug the heck out of it. 2 in a row for Cyril, ty buddy

  For some reason I'm in the perfect mood lately to just listen to nonstop new music. Some kind of musical renaissance happening upstairs; I somehow enjoyed everything Cyril recommended me, I just have Obsidian Tide left to play. And holy shit it's all awesome music. Methinks a 3.5 roulette is in order.
