Probably the first person in history to do Paganini and Steel Panther back to back  :metal

I’m a man of extremes, what can I say? I should really have played them the other way around. I felt that I needed to wash my ears out after the SP.

Not even one hour into the work day and I'm already on to the 4th new release of the day :lol

Astrosaur - Obscuroscope
Opeth - In Cauda Venenum
Dreamarcher - The Bond
Car Bomb - Mordial

new opeth

review: "hmm"
Pretty much. Not very interesting on first impression. But Universal Truth, The Carrot and another song in the first half I don't remember the name of had some great moments

Never thought we'd get to a point where the Bent Knee singer would sing on a Car Bomb song but it's a nice little touch even though it doesn't add super much :corn

Really like that Astrosaur album, best instrumental release I've heard in a while

Finally listening to Richard Barbieri's former band. Pretty cool so far! Far more varied and intricate than I would have expected.

RJ put me on to that Ark Ascent album on Friday. KILLER!  Channeling their inner DT - or more specifically, Petrucci. Good stuff tho.

Yeah, I listened to a couple of tracks after checking my new album tickers on Friday. I Saved it right away. This is actually my first front to back listen and it's really good.
Not quite as cheesy as Circus Maximus.

Anyone else check out this album?

It's really interesting and while it's kind of all over the place, it's quite enjoyable as a whole.
I actually really like it a lot.

TAC, is that Lucifer's Friend a new album, or a compilation?  The debut is excellent (and thank you for that) but I haven't dug in further than that as of yet.

They kind of got back together a 4 or 5 years ago. They released Awakening in 2015, which was a bunch of old songs and 4 new tracks. I didn't follow them after that, but the other night, I discovered they have released TWO albums since then, including Black Moon released earlier this year.

It does include their original vocalist, John Lawton. I like the new album, and I put it on par with modern day Uriah Heep. A very enjoyable listen. I'm actually going to make a purchase of it.

I'm not sure if you'll like it, but they released one of my all time favorite albums, 1981's Mean Machine. John Lawton left the group to make a couple of albums with Uriah Heep in the late 70's. Lucifer's Friend made a couple while he was gone, but Lawton came back for Mean Machine.
Mean Machine is a bit heavier, and channels some NWOBHM style. The album is up on YouTube. It's fantastic.

Bonus points for the album name that sounds like metal but is nothing of the sort.

Yeah, Netherbird leans more towards Black Metal than Tribulation does.
