TAC, is that Lucifer's Friend a new album, or a compilation? The debut is excellent (and thank you for that) but I haven't dug in further than that as of yet.
They kind of got back together a 4 or 5 years ago. They released Awakening in 2015, which was a bunch of old songs and 4 new tracks. I didn't follow them after that, but the other night, I discovered they have released TWO albums since then, including Black Moon released earlier this year.
It does include their original vocalist, John Lawton. I like the new album, and I put it on par with modern day Uriah Heep. A very enjoyable listen. I'm actually going to make a purchase of it.
I'm not sure if you'll like it, but they released one of my all time favorite albums, 1981's Mean Machine. John Lawton left the group to make a couple of albums with Uriah Heep in the late 70's. Lucifer's Friend made a couple while he was gone, but Lawton came back for Mean Machine.
Mean Machine is a bit heavier, and channels some NWOBHM style. The album is up on YouTube. It's fantastic.
