The Hotelier – Goodness is the album I absolutely love and try to spread the word over there but I don't want to ever own it because of that album cover. What were they thinking?

I didn't get from the article... did someone actually complain?   I live in a different world.   

(I wasn't at all making fun of the PICTURE, I was just poking - light - fun at a friend.  I don't at all see what's offensive about that photo.)

Well they had to censor the cover nearly everywhere... And I understood you weren't making fun of the picture itself ;)

This is a lot more "post" and artsy than Futility Report, the shortest track is entirely some kind of avantgarde/ambient crap. The original vocalist also left and the new black metal vox aren't doing as much for me.

I was really looking forward to this as I thought the debut was great. I didn't realise the original vocalist had left but I was thinking "I'm not digging the black metal vocals anywhere near as much, this is kind of a let down"

The best bits were probably the bits featuring the sax but I was pretty disappointed with this new effort. I'll try again in a few days. Now onto the new Cult of Luna

First one is Titanic Rising by Weyes Blood, great album.
And the second one is an absolute masterpiece, still, after all these years, the album that got me into DT and into music really. I've been thinking to travel and see DT on next European tour and I most probably will, combining it with a trip with my girlfriend.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
