Saxon- Wheels of Steel, Strong Arm of the Law

Luoto

Maraton - Meta

Pretty darn enjoyable modern prog rock. Some could say a lot of this is like what they hoped Malina would sound like, but it's not the whole story.

romdrums

If Tesseract were better songwriters, you'd have Valis Ablaze.

jjrock88

Def Leppard- Hysteria

Twisted Sister- Stay Hungry

Black Sabbath- Headless Cross

All my natural instincts are begging me to stop
But somehow I carry on, heading for the top

I have this album saved on Spotify. It's a bit different for me but as you say, it is enjoyable.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: DTwwbwMP on October 10, 2024, 11:26:46 AMDISAPPOINTED.. I hoped for something more along the lines of ADTOE.

The Walrus

Chumbawamba - The Boy Bands Have Won

Recommended by a friend, along with the album Un. This is nothing like the 'Tubthumping' Chumbawamba everybody knows. It's basically a completely different artist. I'm so confused.

the thing that remains the same though is their political nature and the cynical lyrics (which I love(d))

I really wish that Fair to Midland did a few slower songs on their last record, Quince is one of the best songs in their catalog.

If you, or anyone else, is enjoying this album, the singer/main guy behind this album is now the singer for the band 22. The music of 22 isn't all too dissimilar to Maraton. Their last album, "You Are Creating" was put out in 2 parts, "Limb 1  Limb 2" and is a concept of sorts. The previous 22 singer sounds close to the Maraton guy as well. Throw in a dash of Muse, and that's 22.  Enjoyable modern prog worth a listen, IMO.

Thanks, I think I've seen "You Are Creating" on here somewhere before. I'll check it out.

You can resize images by giving a width or height parameter, for example [img width=500] sets the width to 500 px

The Walrus

Full on obsessed with this band now. I am pretty sure at least 2 of these will find their way into my top 50 if I re-evaluate it in a few years. Lord almighty I've rarely heard symphonic metal this good... This is all I've been binging lately, apart from checking out new stuff in gaz's top 50.
